NVIDIA Quadro M5000M是一块支持DirectX 12(FL_11_0)和OpenGL 4.5的移动工作站显卡。 这是一块基于Maxwell架构,采用GM108芯片的显卡,搭配384个着色器内核,采用28nm制程技术由TSMC制造。Quadro M500M是Quadro K620M的后续产品,它同样基于Maxwell GM108芯片,但内存带宽从14.4GB/s提升到了16GB/s。 因此,这款显卡类似于消费市场的GeForce GTX 930M。

Quadro系列提供为专业应用如CAD或DCC的稳定性和性能进行优化的认证驱动程序。 例如,在OpenGL性能上它应显著高于同规格的GeForce显卡。

架构

相比于Kepler,Maxwell架构在一些细节上得到了优化,以提高能效。 较小的流处理器(SMM)与仅128个ALU(Kepler:192个)和优化的调度器应提供对着色器的更好利用。 Nvidia承诺Maxwell架构128个ALU的SMM可以提供Kepler架构192个ALU的SMX的90%性能。 GM108提供了3个SMM,384个着色器内核,24个TMU和8个ROP(64位接口)。

它的另一个优化是大幅扩大的二级缓存。 增加的容量可以处理一些显存流量,让较小的显存界面不会显著降低性能。

GM108支持DirectX 11.2(11.0)以及DirectX 12。

性能

它的性能应该略低于Quadro K620M(芯片相同,略高的显存带宽),属于入门级的独立显卡。在3D游戏性能上Quadro M500M应该和GeForce 930M相当。因此只有需求较低的游戏可以流畅运行。

特性

它的特性包括对多达4个显示器的支持。 此外,高达的3840x2160像素的高分辨率显示器现在可以通过DisplayPort 1.2和HDMI 1.4a(如果可用)连接。 HD音频编解码器,如Dolby TrueHD和DTS-HD,可以通过流模式通过HDMI端口传输。 然而,由于大多数笔记本电脑支持Optimus,集成显卡可能将直接控制显示器端口,可能限制Nvidia显卡的可用功能。

搭配CUDA或OpenCL,Quadro M500M的核心可以用于一般计算。

GM108集成了第六代的PureVideo HD视频引擎(VP6),它提供了更好的H.264和MPEG-2视频解码性能。当然,VP6支持所有前代的功能(4K支持,画中画,NVENC API视频编码)。

功耗

Quadro M500M(以及M600M,K620M)的功耗位30瓦。因此,这款显卡适合于13-14寸或更大尺寸的笔记本电脑。M500M同样支持Optimus可以让笔记本电脑在集成显卡和Nvixia显卡间切换。
