Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 352.1 Hz (Likely utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 5 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 352.1 Hz is relatively high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering. However, there are reports that some users are still sensitive to PWM at 500 Hz and above, so be aware.

In comparison: 52 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 19959 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

Note 8 2021内置的图形单元是基于Bifrost架构,支持OpenGL ES 3.2和Vulkan 1.0等图形API。尽管Helio G85系列并不是为游戏玩家设计的,但其 马里G52 MP2提供了足够的图形性能,即使在PUBG Mobile等高要求的游戏中也能提供约30帧。稍微降低图形设置甚至可以达到40帧。玩Ego射击游戏的最大限度是高清分辨率。
