Legion Pro 5系列是联想中端游戏笔记本电脑的家,但考虑到仅RTX 4050就超过1400美元的高昂起价,我们的期望还是很高。只要你能接受一些明显的缺点,该机型在大多数方面都令人印象深刻。

This 2023 gen8 Lenovo Legion Pro 5i is a competitive daily/work/gaming laptop in the mid-tier segment, especially with the kind of aggressive sales that Lenovo are pushing right now. This RTX 4060 configuration reviewed here is the fastest of its kind we've tested so far, and makes this Legion a very good no-fuss computer. Just don't expect much from the speakers or long runtimes on battery use.

But in return, the laptop loses out on battery life and portability. Unless you want to play games with desktop-level performance or spend a lot of time rendering 3D models, you might be better off sacrificing a bit of power for practicality. The Acer Predator Triton 500 SE is about on par with the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i in battery life, display specs, and performance, but it’s much thinner. The Asus ROG Strix G18 offers better performance and better battery life (9 hours and 43 minutes versus the Legion’s 2 hours and 43 minutes). But the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro succeeds in what it sets out to do, squeezing the best performance possible from its components. Even with its drawbacks, it’s an undeniable step up from budget gaming laptops with muddy displays and middling performance, but it’s not the kind of laptop any gamer can love. It can replace your desktop, but it can’t replace your thin and light laptop.

The midpriced Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 follows some of our favorite gaming machines, including last year's model and the higher-end Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 tested earlier this year. But pedigree doesn't count for much in the computer world, and gaming laptops require a certain level of power and graphics performance to justify their prices. The Pro 5i Gen 8 just doesn't do that, offering middling CPU and GPU performance rather than the sort of muscle that would make it a great value. This Legion isn't a bad gaming rig, but if it's a good deal you seek, you might want to wait until it's on sale...preferably with a 1TB drive.

Lenovo’s Legion 5 Pro remains an easy recommendation. Its robust build, professional exterior, and excellent keyboard set it apart from rivals, and it delivers solid performance for both productivity and gaming. The Legion 5 Pro is a large, heavy laptop, and mediocre battery life makes it a poor travel companion. Still, it’s a great choice for gamers who need a fast laptop at a reasonable price.

Unlike the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i that was released earlier this year, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i is a much more affordable gaming laptop that offers excellent performance for its price point. It comes in two separate types: the Legion Pro 5i outfitted with an Intel CPU and the Legion Pro 5 which comes with an AMD CPU. Both versions use an Nvidia 4000-series GPU, as AMD The cheapest configuration you can nab without having to customize one yourself is about $1,259.99 / £1,410 (including VAT) / AU$2,499, which is far more affordable than most of the best gaming laptops on the market while still commanding respectable specs. I received two personal review units — the first came with the Intel Core i7-13700HX and the second with an AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX. Both come with an Nvidia GPU, as AMD hasn’t yet released gaming laptops with mobile processors.

Although it keeps the main concept, the Legion Pro 5 (16″, 2023) actually looks a bit different from last year. In order to keep the price down, the manufacturer has swapped the metal on the base with plastic. However, this doesn’t terribly impact the build quality. What it does, however, is free up some budget for an adequate cooling solution. And boy, does Lenovo deliver on this. Both the CPU and the GPU hover at about 75°C during gaming and heavy computational loads. There is not an abundance of heat pipes, but instead, we find them placed in a strategic manner. This makes sure that the VRMs and the graphics memory will also be cooled down – something that definitely boosts longevity. Of course, the overall mass of the copper inside the product is high. Still, the device is fairly portable as it weighs only 2.55 kg. Gaming on this product is absolutely lovely. The keyboard makes your experience even better with its long key travel and clicky feedback. We are aware that almost no one uses their touchpad for gaming, but this one is pretty good for your daily tasks.

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 and the Acer Nitro 16 are two budget offerings from Acer and Lenovo. The question is which one is actually the best bang for buck. They both claim great price to performance, but honestly, I think only one can truly stand up to that claim.

I like the Lenovo Legion Pro 5, particularly at this price. It doesn't crush frame rate records, but if I can crank the settings on the games I'm playing to Ultra and see 60 frames per second (or higher, in this case), I'm content — even if it is leaning on AI-magic. You wouldn't be disappointed if you looked further up the best gaming laptops stack at Asus' ROG Zephyrus G14 or the Asus ROG Strix G18, but the higher price tags give me pause. If you want a great gaming machine for under $2,000, the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 hits a killer sweet spot of 1600p performance in a 16-inch laptop with sturdy elegance. I'd personally save up a little more cash and opt for the $1,991 Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 instead. An extra $400 or so (at time of writing) gets you stronger general performance, a smidge more battery life, twice as much RAM, and a 240Hz display (albeit at 1440p). That extra oomph is worth the relatively reasonable cost; 32GB of RAM is especially appealing to me. And there's even an RGB strip, for a bit of extra pizzazz.

It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation.

We’ve seen a handful of high-end, expensive gaming laptops packing next-gen components. The Legion Pro 5 is the first, however, that hits a sweet spot between high-end performance, premium build quality, and a decent price. There are a few reasonable trade-offs — a decent but unexciting screen and a hefty weight chief among them — but they’re easy to overlook given how much else the Legion Pro 5 has going for it. This is the midrange to high-end gaming laptop from the latest generation I’ve been waiting for, and Lenovo nailed it.

For the price I paid for it, I like what this Lenovo Legion Pro 5i has to offer. It's a good-value mid-tier laptop, well built, with a good screen and inputs, and plenty of performance. At the same time, I would caution potential buyers about the hotspots in sustained loads, the somewhat limited battery life, and the lacking speakers.

Lenovo’s Legion series of gaming laptops are known for their superlative gaming abilities. Much to the delight of avid gamers, with each iteration the company optimises its machines to make them better, faster, and more efficient. With the latest Legion Pro 5i, Lenovo is pushing the envelope even further. I have been testing the Legion Pro 5i (Gen 8) for the last few weeks. The review unit here comes with the top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU and RTX 4070 GPU and is priced at Rs 1,86,877. Based on my experience, this review will attempt to find out if the Legion Pro 5i (Gen 8) is among the best gaming laptops under Rs 2 lakh in India right now.

If you couldn’t tell already, I like what this laptop has to offer – especially for the price. The performance is close to the top competitors out there and there’s a lot more to offer in the package, such as a nice screen, lots of IO, and pretty good build quality. I also give it extra points for having a decent webcam as well as a good keyboard and trackpad. I could easily see using this as a daily driver, provided you’re ok with the extra heft over the more portable solutions. The only drawbacks I would have and would caution people about would be the hotspots in sustained loads, the somewhat limited battery life, and the speakers. If you want to use this on battery and primarily as a multimedia consumption machine, there are better options out there.

There is no doubt that the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i (16″, Gen 9) is a capable gaming machine. Compared to the non-Pro sibling, the device in front of us offers a heftier thermal system with additional metal shrouds for cooling the SSDs and even the base CPU option is a 14th Gen Intel HX chip. The cooling is potent and that’s why the processor can show very high clocks in long 100% loads. The optional GeForce RTX 4070 (Laptop) can sustain stable 2535 MHz and 130W TGP after half an hour of gaming. At the same time, the two fans aren’t as loud as a jet fighter. In addition to the great performance, the default 1600p display (BOE NE160QDM-NYC (BOE0B38)) is also good. It’s PWM-free and has a 165Hz refresh rate alongside pretty snappy pixel response times for an IPS unit.
