英特尔的Kaby Lake架构第一眼看上去十分无趣。它没有新的制程工艺，也没有新的微架构——这有点让我们想起2014年的Haswell架构处理器，它几乎没有带来任何值得一提的改进。

不过Kaby Lake并不只是给Skylake芯片简单地贴上了新标签。尽管14纳米的制程技术没有变化，但生产商实现了不少优化。这带来了更高的时钟频率，或者同频率更低的功耗。根据频率范围的不同，它的功效进步达到了15%到25%；不过更低频率的酷睿m系列和Y系列处理器的表现如何还需要进一步观察。我们也十分期待它的四核超低电压处理器。它们计划在2017年发布，应该将会带来近年来在15瓦处理器中最高的性能。

最后，最们还想赞扬一下改进了的视频解码器，不仅支持了最新编码如HEVC Main10，它也相比以往更高效。结合其他的功效改进，Kaby Lake处理器应该可以相比Skylake处理器实现更长的电池续航时间。
