94% Honor Magic8 Pro Review – Solid flagship with awesome performance and cameras

While it isn’t first to the party in 2025, it certainly is one of the best flagship phones that money can currently buy. For what you pay for, which is competitively priced seeing the leading Android incumbents, you get a durable design that hosts a large and vibrant OLED display, the most powerful mobile processor in the market, great battery life and outstanding camera performance especially in low light and telephoto zoom. Best of all, it has a number of unique features, chief among them its ability to detect deepfaked videocalls and soon, faked voices too. If you want a flagship Android phone in 2025 that excels in durability, imaging, and AI features, the Magic8 Pro is one of the strongest options available and comes highly recommended. Honor Magic8 Pro review: Solid iterative flagship
Source: Canbuyornot English EN→zh-CN
I was very impressed by the Honor Magic8 Pro's battery life. With its 7,100mAh battery, this phone can last around 1.5 days on average for my usage. In fact, I often end the day with over 50% battery. In PCMark's battery test, the Honor scored 12hr 49min, which is excellent, and quite a bit longer than the Vivo X300 (11hr 58min). If you're looking for a flagship smartphone that's more affordable than the ones from Apple or Samsung, while offering similar and sometimes even better performance, especially for battery life and photography, the Honor Magic8 Pro should be on your shortlist. It's one of several impressive flagship devices from the Chinese brands, and starts at a competitive price of S$1,499 for the base 12GB+512GB model (S$1,699 for the 16GB+1TB model). Get from Honor's official store on Shopee.

Honor Magic8 Pro hands-on review
Source: GSM Arena English EN→zh-CN
The Honor Magic8 Pro carries forward its predecessor's DNA but refines certain aspects of the user experience. It's a camera-centric phone with top-shelf specs and a great build, but it hasn't gone all flat and angular and has kept some of its curves. It’s not all sunshine and roses, though - the EU version does get a reduced battery capacity. The cut isn’t as severe as what we’ve seen from some competitors (looking at you, vivo X300 Pro), but it still feels bad when other manufacturers manage to keep their larger batteries intact. Devices like the Oppo Find X9 Pro and the OnePlus 15 prove that where there’s a will, there’s a way. The Honor Magic8 Pro won't be launching globally this month, so stay tuned while we give it a thorough assessment before you have to decide if it’s worth your hard-earned cash.

A First Look at the HONOR Magic8 Pro — Tested at Singapore’s Oceanarium

If this preview is anything to go by, the HONOR Magic8 Pro might be one of the most reliable low-light phone cameras I’ve used. The telephoto, especially, is wild — you can zoom into details you wouldn’t normally see with the naked eye.

Honor Magic 8 Pro Specifications, Pros and Cons
Source: OI Spice Tech News English EN→zh-CN
The Honor Magic 8 Pro, announced on October 15, 2025, and released a week later, comes in three variants — the Global model with a 7200 mAh battery, a Europe-only version with a smaller 6270 mAh cell, and a special Satellite Communication Edition for China. The global version stands out as a powerful flagship designed to deliver premium performance, long battery life, and cutting-edge display quality at a competitive price. On the front, the Magic 8 Pro boasts a stunning 6.71-inch LTPO OLED display with 1 billion colors, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 4320 Hz PWM dimming for smooth and flicker-free visuals. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and reaches a peak brightness of up to 6000 nits — making it one of the brightest smartphone displays ever. With a crisp 1256 × 2808 pixel resolution (~458 ppi) and Giant Rhino Glass protection, the screen looks sharp, vibrant, and durable.

Honor Magic 8 Pro vs Standard: The ONLY Review You Need Before Buying
Source: Tech X Reviews English EN→zh-CN
OK, let’s summarize in the end. This generation of the Magic 8 series is still very excellent and very versatile. The appearance ID continues the family design, and there are clear breakthroughs in camera and AI. The performance release during the test was truly impressive to us. But the main keynote of the Magic series—camera plus AI—has not changed.

Honor Magic 8 Pro (Global) Review: 200MP Periscope & AI Rigmarole
Source: ben's gadget reviews English
Honor's new flagship phone is here and I've been using it for the past two weeks across three continents. There's A LOT to like with the phone, starting with a gigantic battery (7100 mAh for Asia and 6200 mAh for EU), the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and a new 200MP Periscope zoom lens that appears to be the HP9 sensor. There's also a new AI button, but for now it is a work in progress. Still, Honor's software is excellent, and the phone is a flagship powerhouse.
