三星Galaxy S26 Ultra

Pros
Cons

EN→zh-CNThe Samsung S26 Ultra is by far Samsung's best Galaxy S phone yet, and while it doesn't reinvent the iconic Android handset, it moves the design, power, AI, and creative capabilities in a positive direction and without raising the price. People will be talking about the Privacy display and Super Steady video for some time to come. Sure, there might be too many AI options on board but, overall, the S26 Ultra is a winner and easily one of the best smartphones of the year.

I’ve spent 48 hours with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and this isn’t a review — just honest early impressions. From the best phone display I’ve ever used, to privacy features that actually matter, Galaxy AI that’s still finding its footing, and growing concerns around the S Pen’s future, there’s a lot to unpack...

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is bringing a few new hardware bits including Privacy Display, which is an ingenious feature that I think other phones should adopt. there's also a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip of course, and the main camera has a faster aperture. elsewhere, the phone also gains native support for Perplexity AI.

I don’t do many hands-on/first-impression videos anymore, mostly because what passes for progress in the world of slab smartphones is a ponderous parade of incremental iteration. In many ways, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is more of the same: harder/better/faster/stronger, etc. But this being a Samsung product, there are also one or two surprises in the mix – for better and worse. Join me for a first look at my first day with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, from Galaxy Unpacked in San Francisco!

EN→zh-CNFor those who feel the prying eyes of the world peeking over their shoulder, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has something special for you. Indeed, the entire S26 range (standard, Plus, and Ultra) has a new pixel-level feature that blocks out the display from the side and above. 'Privacy Display', as it is known, is arguably the most important feature on the Galaxy S26. This is a type of anti-shoulder surfing technology that obscures your screen. It works automatically on notifications, but needs to be activated for individual apps. Once on, sideways viewers will only see a dark display. The feature works at 'the pixel level', according to Samsung, and it is the result of five years of software engineering and tests. It's an appealing capability for the Samsung S26, but we expect it won't be long before other vendors have alternatives.

EN→zh-CNThe new Samsung Galaxy S26 phones — the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra — mostly resemble the previous versions. The design, for one, is largely the same. Like most mainstream phones, the S26 phones come with rounded corners and flat sides. The easier way to distinguish the S26 from last year's models is to look at the rear cameras. If they are on a camera plateau, it's the S26 series. The bezels are also thinner in the S26 phones, but that's more difficult to tell without a side-by-side comparison.

EN→zh-CNIt's too early to decide what star rating we should bestow the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra with, as much more testing is required to see if its picture performance lives up to the heights set by its predecessor. Early signs show promise, however, as the S26 Ultra seems to be another feature-packed handset with a gorgeous screen. We can't wait to put it through our rigorous testing process.

EN→zh-CNInitially, I felt as though the Galaxy S26 Ultra was another iterative upgrade, and in a lot of respects, it is on paper. Despite this, Samsung has pushed through a lot of great changes and upgrades that could prove to be genuinely useful — and are likely to be promptly copied by some of the competition. The Privacy Screen is the standout security feature on the S26 Ultra. Likewise, the camera's horizontal lock is not a wholly original idea, but it is a novel idea for a smartphone that could prove very useful. The rest of the phone's hardware looks solid, too. We've got a potentially major performance boost from the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, and the larger camera aperture should offer major improvements to photo quality — especially in low-light conditions.

EN→zh-CNIt's clear that Samsung is betting big on AI once again. Right now, the most sophisticated, and arguably the most useful, AI features are the ones found in One UI. But not everyone seems to be sold on the AI buzz just yet, especially in countries where English isn't the main language, as most of these features support either English or a few other languages.

EN→zh-CNSamsung’s latest Galaxy flagships deliver incremental updates, but perhaps that’s to be expected considering the current economic landscape. The Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Screen is a truly innovative feature and a welcome addition that comes without a price increase. And while the Galaxy S26 costs $100 more than its predecessor, it features double the storage, a marginally bigger display, and a slightly larger battery, so it's easy to justify.

EN→zh-CNI really like what Samsung has done with its S-series lineup this year. We’ve reached a point where there isn’t much more you can do with a slab of glass, aluminium, and machine intelligence, so any updates need to be highly considerate and genuinely beneficial. My thoughts turn immediately to people upgrading from earlier generations. The leap from S25 to S26 isn’t huge at all, but imagine coming from an S23 (or earlier) to one of these new devices. That user will experience seismic improvements. The stand-out S26 Ultra feature – and, indeed, the one that will grab all the headlines – is the privacy display. It’ll gain attention (excuse the pun) for the right reasons, and I hope other manufacturers follow suit.

EN→zh-CNSamsung has finally made it official. The flagships are here, and as expected, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, S26+ and S26 take centre stage at Unpacked 2026 in San Francisco on Wednesday. The Galaxy S26 series now come with improved performance, cameras with focus on Galaxy AI experience that translates into real-world experiences.

EN→zh-CNOn first impression, the Galaxy S26 Ultra feels like a safe upgrade rather than a radical redesign, with a lighter frame and curvier corners that simply make it nicer to hold. It’s the screen that’s the real standout here, with new Privacy Screen tech that could be a real win for anyone who values their on-screen privacy. While the camera hardware is starting to look a bit conservative compared to its Chinese competitors, Samsung’s focus on image processing could still give it an edge – though I’ll need to see how it holds up in less-than-ideal conditions to confirm. Performance looks strong, as is standard for an Ultra device, though the 5000mAh cell remains unchanged at a time when rivals are going all-in on big batteries.
