On the surface, Xiaomi is offering you a tempting deal: drop 5G from the equation, and you can save £80 on the Redmi Note 13 5G. It’s not as simple as that, however, with downgrades to the design and the performance. It remains a solid sub-£200 phone with a particularly good display, but everything else feels at or slightly below par.

Summing up, it can be said that the Redmi Note 13 and Redmi Note 13 5G are quite decent smartphones for their segment. Among the advantages, we can highlight the excellent AMOLED display, stylish exterior design, decent level of performance, and battery life. The cameras are also good for this price range. As for the drawbacks, the glossy material of the body stands out. It’s a bit of a mixed bag – it looks beautiful and stylish, but from a practical standpoint, it’s not ideal, as fingerprints, dust, and smudges tend to accumulate on the body (or its individual parts). If choosing between the Redmi Note 13 and the Redmi Note 13 5G, I would prefer the latter. Because for a price difference of $38 / €35, you get higher performance, 5G support, and, as practice has shown, slightly better camera quality.

Xiaomi’s Redmi smartphones have always been a great choice for people on a budget. If they’re within your budget, and you’re not looking to spend too much on a phone, these two devices are solid choices. The 5G model is the better phone of the two, though. I’m not saying that just because it supports 5G connectivity. The camera performance is slightly better, the performance in general is better, and I even liked the case it comes with the phone a bit more. So, if you have the option to get the 5G model over the 4G one, go for it. Both of them are worth the money, though, I’d say.

While we criticized the other 4G model in Xiaomi’s 2024 mid-range line-up, the Redmi Note 13 4G presents a much more compelling case with its sub-$200 price. An excellent display, a decent camera, and good battery life offer almost the same experience as the much pricier Note 13 Pro 4G. And the trade-offs found in the bigger model are mostly forgiven for $200: There are better-performing phones in this price range with more modern connectivity standards, but they don’t usually offer a bright 120 Hz OLED display or a full battery charge in less than 1h30, let alone both. In short, the Redmi Note 13 4G is a well-rounded package for anyone looking for a cheap and reliable phone. The four years of security updates not only put the Chinese phone at the top of its price category, it also makes the phone much easier to recommend to a relative or friend.

The Redmi Note 13 4G is the most affordable out of the Redmi Note 13 bunch. As such, one would expect lots of compromises and corner-cutting. Interestingly enough, that isn't entirely true. In fact, in some aspects, the 4G model offers better solutions than its 5G counterpart. Notably, it has a stereo speaker setup and an under-display fingerprint reader. In many other aspects, the Redmi Note 13 4G is arguably just as good as the Redmi Note 13 5G. The design is nearly identical, and you get IP54 ingress protection on both phones. The display on the 4G model is nearly identical to the 5G one and only lacks 10-bit color support. You get nice and large 5,000 mAh batteries in both phones with adequate 33W fast charging and microSD storage expansion. Aside from some differences in processing, the camera setup on the Redmi Note 13 4G is also identical to that of the more expensive 5G model and is pretty dependable and versatile overall. The Redmi Note 13 4G arguably only has one major shortcoming. Unfortunately, it's a pretty significant one too.

Redmi Note 13 4G is a formidable phone in the budget segment. Although nothing much changed from its predecessor, it still is one of the best phones to buy for 25k. As told earlier, the phone has an excellent AMOLED display, although, with some minor bugs in portrait mode, the camera setup is still decent. Yeah, they could have done better with the chipset, at least an SD 695 or even the G99 Ultra (that’s not going to happen as long as there’s the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G though). However, the dual speaker is finally back again, so that’s a bonus. So to put it simply, the Redmi Note 13 4G is a well-balanced budget phone for those who seek comfort, affordability, and a good smartphone experience at 25 thousand rupees.

So at the end of the day – which one should you buy? That depends on you. Obviously, the more expensive one is better but not everyone can afford or need it. At the end of the day, it boils down to your own personal needs.

The Redmi Note 13 is indeed a cheapie, but it gives you enough for the price to cover the basics. You have a big OLED screen with decent characteristics, and a decent main camera, all in a design that looks simple, but nice. The processor, however, is on the slow side and you will be able to feel that, and you have all the typical shortcomings of budget phones like very poor video quality and camera zoom. Weigh your budget and your preferences considering what all we said above, and let us know if you think this phone strikes a good balance of features.

To wrap things up, the Redmi Note 13 fits as a solid mid-ranger smartphone that delivers a smooth, fast, and satisfying experience. It offers solid specs and features that are surely impressive for a device with a very accessible price point. It also brought significant improvements such as thinner bezels, the fresh new design, the addition of in-screen fingerprint sensor, and a higher peak brightness. I highly recommend this for those who want an immersive media experience without breaking the bank.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro clearly has a lot going for it; the design is among the best in this segment — as is the screen — and the hardware holds up in daily usage scenarios. If you're coming from an older Redmi phone, you will find plenty to like here. That said, Xiaomi's abysmal software policy means you don't get as many updates as you should, and the UI itself isn't any different to MIUI 14. Ultimately, that's what limits the potential of the Redmi Note 13 Pro. This is a good phone letdown by poor decision-making, and with plenty of great alternatives to choose from, the Redmi Note 13 Pro just doesn't do enough to justify its price tag. If you need a new phone, you're better off with the POCO X6 Pro or the Nothing Phone 2a.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G’s overall battery performance came in slightly above average in our database. However, because of its autonomy and efficiency performances, the device fell short of matching the performance of its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G. Equipped with a 5100 mAh battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G offered a moderate usage autonomy of 55 hours and 55 minutes, ranking slightly above average in our database. However, it faced challenges in outdoor activities, particularly in browsing social apps. Nonetheless, its performance in individual use cases, especially while watching videos under both 4G and Wi-Fi connections, was relatively decent. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G comes with a 67W charger, which helped the device reach a full charge in less than 50 minutes.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 25,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, Rs 27,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB variant and Rs 29,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB variant. After analysing its features and performance, we feel Xiaomi could have priced it a bit more aggressively; it’s a Redmi Note after all that is meant to have a competitive price tag. The phone isn’t bad at all and has a good spread of features and decent performance. It’s just that the competition is too stiff in the segment. Let’s look at the other options available in this budget, starting with a sort of in-house competition from Poco. The 256GB variant of the Poco F5 5G with a more powerful SoC can be purchased under 30K. Then you have the Poco X6 Pro 5G, again with a more powerful Dimensity D8300 Ultra SoC selling for well under 30K; in fact, you get its 512GB variant for Rs 27,999.

In conclusion, it can be said that the Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G are good balanced devices with every chance of becoming “popular smartphones.” Among the main advantages, we can highlight: a great display, a sufficiently good level of performance (especially for the 5G version), stylish design, and good battery life. The cameras, for the most part, are good. However, the additional modules are weaker, and this is noticeable in some modes. Among the drawbacks, the only thing to highlight is perhaps the material of the body, which collects fingerprints, smudges, and dust quite noticeably. If choosing between these two models, in my opinion, the clear leader is the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G.

Choosing between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ boils down to your priorities and budget. If you want a curved display, faster charging and superior water and dust resistance, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ might be the ideal choice for you. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a flat display, headphone jack and want to save some money, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is a compelling option. Ultimately, both devices offer a great range of features for their respective price points.

Comparing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 5G vs the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and that most premium Pro Plus global smartphone, to see how the camera, battery life etc stacks up. I've already reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G, and the regular Pro - check back soon for my coverage of the most budget mobile! Now, in some ways these phones are all massively different, starting with the cameras. In our side-by-side test the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G served up the most natural colours. Both Pros are also a step up for low light and HDR shots. However, any kind of motion means blurry photos! Performance also improves as you upgrade from the Redmi Note 13 5G up to the Pro and Pro Plus models. The regular can cope with PubG etc but you'll need a Xiaomi Pro to play Genshin Impact. Battery life is excellent on all three Xiaomi smartphones, but the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and that Plus model boost the charging speeds. And you've also got some bonuses like full water resistance on the Note 13 Pro Plus 5G, great news at this budget phone price.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G stands out in the mid-range market with its impressive 200MP main camera, efficient Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, and a vibrant 120 Hz OLED display. Its 5100 mAh battery with 67W fast charging and the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack further enhance its appeal. However, the phone’s secondary cameras and battery life, while adequate, don’t reach the highs of its main features. The haptic feedback is decent but not as refined as in premium models. The commitment to software updates is commendable, though the device is marred slightly by bloatware and lacks waterproofing. Overall, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G offers great value for its price, excelling in camera and display capabilities. It’s an attractive option for those prioritizing these features, but it may fall short for users seeking the highest standards in every aspect.

As we already said, the Redmi Note 13 Pro offers a substantial upgrade over its predecessor without asking more for the upgrade. It's a solid all-rounder, leaving very little to complain about. The display is superb, the performance is good, the main camera is unrivaled, and the fast charging solution is competitive as well as battery life. We would still like to see a better ultrawide camera, though, and a hardware proximity sensor. The virtual ones are just awful. Does the phone get our approval? It sure does, but if you are not in a hurry, you may want to hold off a little longer and see if the competition has something better for you in the upcoming few months. Even so, we believe that the Redmi Note 13 Pro will remain competitive throughout 2024 as it's an excellent piece of hardware, especially when the price is expected to go down.

In conclusion, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G feels like a well balanced phone. We would avoid the cheaper non-5G model as it has a quite slow processor, but this model here we feel is a very good choice. The camera quality is impressive, charging is super fast, and the performance is zippy too. Not to mention extras like a headphone jack and the big battery. However, be warned about the push notifications issue with MIUI, and if you can live with that, this phone should definitely be on your radar.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G is an interesting update to one of Xiaomi’s best-selling lines. In the always difficult balancing act between specification, features, and cost for the mid-range market, the Chinese didn’t slow down on its brute-force strategy, with a high-resolution camera, fast charging, and even a higher-resolution and brighter display. On the positive side, the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G offers a nice-looking design, with an excellent display, and regardless of megapixels, the main camera gave us good photos in all scenarios. And new to the Note 13 Pro line, Xiaomi has a clear software update policy that should have its buyers with a secure device for at least four years, making the bestseller easier than ever to recommend.

Reviewing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, including an unboxing, camera test, gaming performance and battery life verdict. I've been using the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G as my personal phone for a week and here's how it stacks up vs the Pro Plus, as well as that Poco X6! If you're after a budget mid-range smartphone in 2024, this is among the best. Sure, it's not IP68 water resistant like the Plus, while the gaming chops aren't as strong. But for a cheaper UK price, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G boasts excellent specs, top battery performance and can rattle through Genshin Impact. On reduced graphics settings, admittedly. The Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G's 200MP main camera is good in most cases, although can falter when your subject isn't stationary or when the lighting isn't ideal. You can even shoot at that maximum camera resolution, to zoom in afterwards. We're still waiting for Xiaomi to slap its new Hyper OS launcher on here.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro manages to tick all the boxes on a specs sheet. You get a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with slim bezels, which is sharp enough to watch content. You also get perks like Gorilla Glass Victus and 1800 nits of peak brightness, which is rare in this segment. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 is powerful enough to handle day-to-day tasks and cater to your occasional gaming needs. It is also the first phone in India to arrive with this 4nm chipset. The 200-megapixel camera is capable of taking good shots in the daytime with ample details and natural colours. Similarly, it also shines in low-light scenarios where other phones in this segment often falter. The Redmi Note 13 Pro runs on Android 13 out of the box, which is disappointing for a phone in 2024. Xiaomi has promised an update to HyperOS soon, and hopefully, it will result in a bloatware-free experience.

Source: Root Nation CN

At the price of Rs. 34,999 (including a Rs. 3,000 instant discount on ICICI bank card payments), the World Champions Edition of the smartphone costs the same as the standard variant, which is unusual for special editions. This means you get all the features and specifications of the smartphone along with all the customisation and design features of the special edition at no extra cost. If you are a fan of the Argentinian football team or just a football fan in general, there is no real downside to this phone. At the beginning of this review, we asked the question whether Redmi has done justice to this theme. In my opinion, the attention to detail, the thematic accessories, the high-quality back panel artwork, and the customised icons all make for a thoughtful design that fans are likely to appreciate.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is another accomplished mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi, and another worthwhile option in the sub-£500 range. It’s got a super-sharp OLED display, solid performance, stacks of storage, and an accomplished 200MP main camera. Stamina is decent, the design is notably improved, and the provision of a 120W charger in the box makes its rivals look like slackers. However, Xiaomi’s cluttered software continues to hold it back, even in its new HyperOS guise. You can get a cleaner experience, not to mention faster performance and wireless charging, from the ageing Pixel 7a for the same or even less money. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus’s cousin, the Poco X6 Pro, offers a broadly comparable experience (and much faster performance) for significantly less money.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G’s overall battery performance came in slightly below average in our database. Equipped with the same 5000 mAh battery as its predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G offered a moderate usage autonomy of 48 hours and 47 minutes, 6 hours less than the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, ranking it below average in our database. Moreover, it faced challenges when testing individual usages outdoors and indoors, especially when streaming music and browsing social apps outdoors. Also, the battery gauge was inaccurate, displaying 20% and 100% when the true battery capacity was closer to 17% and 93%, respectively. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G comes with a 120W charger, which helped the device to reach a full charge in only 33 minutes.

To celebrate its birthday and to give back to fans, Xiaomi holds an annual Fan Festival on April 6th, and this year the company is launching a special Fan Festival Edition of the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus. I took the phone out for a day around Hong Kong for a vlog, showing off the awesome 200-megapixel camera's capabilities.

Is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ worth the money? Well, it all depends on what you’re looking for, but in general, I’d say yes… definitely. This phone is, first and foremost, really well-balanced. It provides all the basics and adds layers to them. It’s very comfortable to use, while it’s not too heavy. It feels like a quality product, has a great display, and a very solid main camera. Its speakers is also praise-worthy at this price range, and so on. Even HyperOS is an improvement over MIUI 14. This is an easy recommendation for me.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is undoubtedly a mixed bag then. Its serious pros – design, performance, display, battery and 200MP camera – are weighed down by cluttered software, egregious bloatware and weak supporting cameras. There’s just about enough here to be value for money at £449, and I doubt you’d be disappointed if you paid that. All the same, if I didn’t have a penny over £450 to spend on a handset, I’d still opt for the Google Pixel 7a (£383) – the clean version of Android and being the first to get timely updates means it remains the top choice at this budget, despite another solid showing from Xiaomi.

What makes it sweeter is that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is a clear upgrade from its predecessor since the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G did not have IP68 protection, a display-mounted fingerprint sensor, or a bright 1,800-nit panel for outdoor viewing. If the raw performance, battery life, and imaging quality are a touch better than they are, we’d say the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is the budget-tier phone others will need to beat. But even without these advantages, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is still a good option and decent value for money if you need an affordable handset without superfluous add-ons. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G retails at S$569 (12GB RAM + 512GB storage) on its official channels, such as its Xiaomi authorised stores, Lazada, and Shopee. Colours available are Midnight Black, Aurora Purple, and Midnight White.

For a price of around $450, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G competes with other devices such as Samsung’s A-series smartphones, which come with less impressive Exynos chipsets, and Google’s A-series devices, which feature smaller displays and slower charging speeds. It’s in these aspects where the Xiaomi’s new midranger excels, although factors such as MIUI, and the modest camera performance need to be considered. Still, the Note 13 Pro+’s terrific-looking design and display, fast charging speeds, and fairly capable chipset are tempting reasons to go with Redmi’s new premium midranger, and at a price that’s less than most smartphones these days, this might be enough for budget-conscious buyers and Redmi fans alike. The poster child of budget phones has historically been the domain of Xiaomi’s Redmi phone series, and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G once again proves that you don’t have to pay through your nose if you want a a solid phone that covers most of the bases for just S$569 (12GB RAM + 512GB storage) – which, interestingly, is the same price as its predecessor (no price hikes, yay!). amsung's Galaxy A54 is a tempting alternative, given the strength of Samsung's ecosystem and the brand's promise of years of OS updates and security patches. But, it's a considerably pricier phone at S$654, and that only gets you 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. Furthermore, it's not a lot more powerful. Again, this just highlights the value proposition that the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ brings to the table.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+ comes with a starting price tag of Rs 31,999. The smartphone sports an elegant and classy design. It packs a powerful mid-range chipset and delivers a lag-free performance. The 200MP camera on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ will also impress you with the image output and the 120W charging support works as an added advantage. If you are looking for a well-built 5G smartphone under the budget of Rs 35,000, then Redmi Note 13 Pro+ can be your pick.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is the best Redmi Note this year - it has the best design/display/chipset and the fastest charging solution among its Note peers. Plus, it is not that expensive, on the contrary. We did like the new curved glass design and very much appreciated the IP68 protection. The high-res Dolby Vision OLED and the pair of Dolby Atmos speakers are surely something anyone would like, and the Dimensity 7200 Ultra turned out not only adequate but chart-topping when it comes to mid-rangers. The good news continues with the super-fast charging and the very capable cameras with great photo and video quality. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ has uninspiring battery life, something we do hope for Xiaomi to improve with an update.

Unfortunately, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is not yet available officially in South Africa, but international retail price is currently sitting at ~R8 100. This is incredibly affordable for a flagship, especially one with so many features. It is about R1 000 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy A54 and packs about the same performance power and a comparable camera array and display. But the fast-charging on the device is industry-leading by our estimation. While the Xiaomi software is a bit bloated in the camera system and in the UI shell, these are small issues well worth the grand you could be saving. With that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is an excellent smartphone, one we think will be successful if it lands locally, and a fantastic alternative to Samsung’s midrange series of devices. We’re excited to see what the brand will come up with next.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus tries to offer a complete experience in the mid-range segment by sprinkling some premium perks like IP68 and Gorilla Glass Victus. It has a beautiful curved display, and the 200-megapixel camera is excellent in the daytime. However, the camera results are inconsistent at night, and the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra isn’t suitable for intensive games. The 5,000mAh battery can last a day, and the 120W charger can top it up in 25 minutes. Unfortunately, the phone still ships with Android 13 and plenty of bloatware. Xiaomi promised an update to HyperOS soon but hasn’t yet delivered it. If you are a casual user looking for a good display, a long-lasting battery and great cameras, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is a decent choice. However, you will need to contend with the average performance, bloatware-ridden software, and inconsistent low-light shots.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a good smartphone, even a really good one. The AMOLED display completely convinces me, as does the main camera with 200 MP and the fast charging with 120 W. The smartphone is prettier—for my taste—than many other inexpensive smartphones and also has a high-quality finish. Another positive aspect is that you will be provided with security updates for up to four years, although Android 13, which is no longer quite as fresh as it used to be, leaves a somewhat bland aftertaste. I would like to say one thing about the points of criticism: Yes, I am grumbling about the fact that there is no wireless charging, no telephoto camera and the ultra-wide-angle camera is rather "average". But don't forget that you can buy this slicer from 450 euros and I'm complaining at a really high level here. I'm convinced that people who mainly use the main camera anyway, don't play the most technically demanding games and don't have a curved display phobia will be absolutely happy with this smartphone.

So, looking at the competition, you get flagship-esque features like an IP68 rating and Gorilla Glass Victus protection, a good AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. You also get fast performance, and decent cameras — all around NPR 50,000! The red flag on this phone would be its software itself! The MIUI experience isn’t very good as opposed to something like OnePlus or Samsung. Even after the HyperOS update, the situation won’t change all that much. The videos on this phone also could have been better. But, the software is the only thing holding this phone down. So, that’s one thing you need to really consider when buying this Xiaomi offering. All in all, the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is a well-balanced midrange phone for the price tag of NPR 50,000! It’s almost a no-brainer choice!

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is one of the best phones that most people shouldn’t buy. It has some of the best hardware we’ve ever seen on a mid-range phone, from superb performance and a gorgeous display to great battery life and ultra-fast charging. Even the premium design and audio are impressive. However, there are two big things that count against it. The first are the cameras, which are capable of great shots but frustratingly unreliable and not the most versatile. The second is the software, which is often unintuitive and a clear step down in terms of updates vs many rivals. Unfortunately, these two aspects are crucial to the way most people use their phone. Considering the strength of the competition, the Note 13 Pro+ is only worth buying if you prioritise landscape photography and like Xiaomi’s MIUI skin.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G made some improvements over its predecessor, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, with the device delivering images that were correct from the standpoint of quality. Casual photographers will appreciate the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G‘s capabilities in capturing nice stills in most light conditions. In low-light scenes, image noise was sometimes quite high. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G showed a notable score improvement over its predecessor in zoom, but the lack of a dedicated tele module meant that image quality was still limited in the medium and long range. In video, performance was mixed amid some exposure and autofocus instabilities, which could affect the overall user experience. When compared with other High-end devices ($400-$600), the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G camera ranked near the top end of the segment.

So... what's the verdict on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+? It's mostly positive: the phone has tons of storage, beautiful design, it works smoothly, and the main camera is truly impressive. If you can live with the MIUI software, which can mess up notifications for some apps, we think this phone should be on your radar for great mid-range options in 2024.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ clearly deserves the best Redmi Note ever crown, period. However, it no longer enjoys the monopoly like its predecessors. Phones like the Realme 11 Pro+, Poco X6 Pro, iQOO Neo 7 Pro, and even the Motorola Edge 40 are as impressive as the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, and some of these devices are much cheaper than Redmi Note’s latest flagship. The set of features it offers makes the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ one of the most mature mid-range smartphones, and it is for those who want the best Redmi Note with top-tier features like an IP rating and fast charging. For those who want a phone with a great camera or performance, it is best to look elsewhere.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ has a lot going for it. Its design, display, and battery life are its most notable features. The primary camera is impressive for its price range, and the addition of 120W fast charging and IP68 rating make it stand out from the competition. Adding IP68 should revolutionise this price category for the highest water and dust rating, usually limited to premium smartphones. However, the software situation could be better, as the phone comes with preloaded bloatware. The camera performs poorly in low light conditions, and additional sensors are not useful. The Redmi Note has traditionally been a great value proposition, but this year, this is only true for some models. Thanks to multiple SKUs, Xiaomi offers Redmi Note 13 to everyone from sub-Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 35,000. However, now that it has entered the Rs. 30,000 price bracket, it faces stiff competition from devices like the Pixel 7a (Review).

I had an unshakeable sense of deja vu while writing this review. The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ does bring a few upgrades over last year’s model, most notably the much brighter OLED screen. Curved-edge glass and an in-display fingerprint sensor help it feel like a higher-end handset, and the processor upgrade guarantees smooth running. But the overall experience is largely unchanged. A large battery, fast charging speeds and a capable main camera remain the biggest draws. A new (but not newest) version of Android and two weak secondary snappers remain the biggest drawbacks. In a world where a Google Pixel 7a does such a great job with algorithm-assisted zoom snaps, a OnePlus Nord 3 has a more powerful processor, and Nothing Phone 2 prices continue to tumble, you’ve got to really want all the detail a 200MP camera sensor can provide.

All in all, you can’t go wrong with having the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ as your new daily driver. If you’re someone who’s into gaming and watching videos, consider grabbing this guy. But if you’re someone who’s into details in their shots, likes to take zoomed in photos and videos and who gets bothered by smudges on their phones, you might not be interested in this.

And if that does not tell you the story of the evolution of the Note, perhaps nothing will – the series that was known for its spec substance is now turning on spectacular style. How well the consumers take to this switch will be known in the coming days. As of now, we will say that if you are in the market for a phone that will turn heads while delivering a good performance without turning your bank balance red, then the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is one of your best options. It is more expensive than ever before but comes with more features than ever before as well. Will the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G help Xiaomi make its presence felt in the premium mid-segment, taking on the likes of OnePlus' Nord series?

While the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus lacks a distinctive novelty factor, given that many headline features are already offered by competitors in the same segment, it still emerges as a commendable smartphone. Xiaomi leverages a contemporary processor, a fresh design, and leading ingress protection, capitalising on its late market entry. Consequently, while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus may not establish new benchmarks, it effectively challenges those claiming to have done so.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G is a massive upgrade over its predecessor in most areas – it gets a new premium design, an IP68 rating, almost double the screen brightness, a faster processor, an improved camera, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and more. These upgrades also make it stand tall amidst competition but there’s one area where it falls behind – performance. The likes of the iQOO Neo 7 Pro and OnePlus Nord 3 blow past the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ in synthetic benchmarks and real-world gaming. The renowned Redmi Note series from Xiaomi has consistently brought premium features to the masses in India at an affordable price. And this year is no exception. The Redmi Note 13 series ushered in the New Year’s with a couple of class-leading features, a brand-new design language, and impressive specifications.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G pricing starts at INR 31,999 in India, which is the highest yet for a Redmi series device. For that money, you get impressive design and build quality, the best yet on a Redmi phone. The display quality is also excellent and we were extremely pleased with the performance of the device in everyday tasks. The lightning-quick 120W charging is also a phenomenal feature and we do appreciate the inclusion of a 120W charger in a world where they are fast disappearing from packages. However, we weren't quite as pleased with the camera. The lossless zoom feature from the massive 200MP resolution is truly neat but there were notable color issues plaguing all the cameras on the device. The good news is that it's fixable and we hope the company adjusts things based on the feedback provided here as the camera hardware is otherwise quite capable.

With the new Redmi Note 13 Pro+ smartphone, the company has increased the price by Rs 2,000 compared to last year's model. But, for this, it is also offering a lot of upgrades. If we don't look at the Redmi Note name and just look at the performance, people are getting a good deal here. The device has a solid display and battery in its price range. The general performance is also on par with the competition. There is also IP68 water-resistant support that you don't usually get to see in the lower price range. The camera performance is decent and not the best in its segment, for which people can look for other options. But the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is overall a good 5G mid-range phone that people can buy.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is one of the most capable smartphones in the segment and there’s no doubt about it. It delivers what it promises – be it a great display experience, fast charging, or reliable camera performance (mostly). It may not be the most powerful phone in the segment, and for that, you have the OnePlus Nord 3 and iQOO Neo 7 Pro. But some premium features like 120W fast charging, IP68 rating, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, and NFC make it a value-for-money mid-premium offering and worth considering. However, Xiaomi needs to work on the software experience, aiming to make MIUI (or HyperOS in the future) less cluttered and perhaps free of some pre-installed apps. While I am happy with the camera performance, the software aspect requires tweaking for more consistent results. The big question remains – will loyal Xiaomi users be willing to invest over Rs 30K in a Redmi Note phone? Only time will tell.

Xiaomi lavished a lot of attention on the design of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, and the result is one of the best-looking phones in the mid-range category. The phone now has a curved AMOLED panel that gives it a much more upmarket look, and the design at the back has also been updated. There's much better hardware in the form of the Dimensity 7200 Ultra, the battery lasts all day and charges at 120W, and the phone now comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and IP68 water resistance. However, you don't get Android 14 out of the box, and it still runs MIUI. You miss out on basic video recording features, the auxiliary cameras are not worth your time, and the device isn't anywhere as good a value as its predecessors.

Unboxing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, a mid-range smartphone launching globally soon, boasting a 200MP camera, fantastic gaming performance and crazy specs. The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is a true flagship killer, so here's hoping it hits the UK soon - stay tuned for a full review! The camera tech certainly sounds familiar and that primary sensor is handy for snapping a high-res photo and cropping in. This Xiaomi blower is pretty good for everyday snaps but any motion often results in blur. And the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus also struggles with portrait shots. Gamers will enjoy a smooth experience on Genshin Impact and other Android titles. Xiaomi's MiUI includes a Game Turbo mode which helps to keep that frame rate high, as well as giving you a...Lolita makeover.

It’s a shame to end on that sour note, because my view is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro is the best of the latest Redmi bunch. Yes, its video performance is weak and its gaming output may be lesser than the Pro Plus model, but it inherits most of the positives at a far more competitive price. £339 is superb value: you lose a lot by paying £60 less for the non-Pro version, and don’t gain that much by paying an extra £110 for the Pro Plus. You might still be better off going for the Pixel 6a for the bloat-free and readily updated OS, but as far as new releases go, this is right up there with the Nothing Phone (2a). And given we gave that five stars, that’s high praise indeed.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro comes across as a solid all-rounder smartphone with an appealing price tag. It can be the ideal phone for those who enjoy watching shows and movies on their device. The camera performance is satisfactory overall, although low-light shots could benefit from some improvement. Upon comparing samples taken by the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the Nothing Phone 2(a), the former emerged ahead by a few notches, particularly in terms of the primary camera. If you prefer a clean Android experience, Nothing Phone 2(a) deserves a look. For gaming-centric users, the POCO X6 or X6 Pro is also a solid choice. If you’re already used to the MIUI interface and don’t care about gaming too much, the Redmi Note 13 Pro won’t disappoint.

Now, let’s conclude this review of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. Overall, this phone comes out as a balanced midrange phone with a good display, average camera, and “okayish” day-to-day performance from the Helio G99 for the price of NPR 35,000. But it doesn’t bring any substantial upgrade from its predecessor, the Note 12 Pro 5G. Plus in my opinion, Xiaomi Nepal should have introduced the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G for NPR 40,000 instead of the 12GB + 512GB configuration of this phone.

Xiaomi could be praised for not abandoning customers who are stuck to 4G—or don’t need 5G—but the lack of a modern processor makes its Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G perform like an entry-level phone, without compensating that with better battery endurance. In the end, its value proposition rides entirely on its 200-megapixel camera, since the company offers the same phone with a 64 MP cam for two-thirds of the price. Some people may argue that performance is good enough with an old mid-range chip, but when you can get more than 33% extra battery life on top of triple the performance in heavy tasks under similar conditions, it is difficult to recommend the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. The cheaper Redmi Note 13 5G offers comparable performance (with slightly better gaming power) and close camera quality. The more expensive Note 13 Pro 5G brings better performance overall plus a better screen, and all three models are evenly split over a €100 range.

It is no coincidence that there are five phones in the Redmi Note 13 series, each with carefully tuned characteristics to take on the competition. The Redmi Note 13 Pro in particular lacks 5G, a feature many people don't really need, and its processor is not the fastest around, but it is able to deliver in other areas that could be more important. The capable 200MP main camera is the main selling point, and so is the very fast charging, the rich contents of the box, as well as beloved features from the recent past like microSD expandable storage and 3.5mm headphone jack. We take issue with the MIUI software and how it can cripple push notifications for some apps, but for all else, this device is very good value for the money.

Overall, we like the Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G a bit more than its Poco M6 Pro doppelganger for the improved main camera. The rest of the device delivers solid value and a well-rounded product for the price. We aren't saying it's the best value proposition out there, but prospective buyers won't be disappointed.

In conclusion, the Redmi Note 13 Pro could potentially be one of the solid contenders in its segment as you get a more than an average display, good performance, decent cameras and a reliable battery. One thing that we think that you need to keep in mind is that, its still a 4G LTE smartphone – well to some this might not be a dealbreaker, but to others it is, especially that 5G is now widely available in the country; a high-speed connectivity that we should all take advantage of. For pricing, the 8GB + 256GB configuration is priced at PHP 13,999 while PHP 15,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G is proof of how good budget phones have gotten recently. Go back in time just a few short years, and you couldn’t get anything near this much value for the price. The trouble is that Xiaomi’s rivals haven’t stood still, either. And that makes the Redmi Note 13 5G a tougher sell. If you can spend just a little more money, both the Nothing Phone (2a) and the Google Pixel 6a offer substantially better performance and, especially in the case of the latter, better photography.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 battery had an overall average performance, but this version showed a much stronger performance in autonomy and efficiency than its 5G counterpart, the Redmi Note 13 5G. Under moderate usage, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 lasted more than 56 hours, compared with the 50 1/2 hours of the 5G version. The device showed great autonomy in most outdoor use cases, except when browsing social apps. In most of the calibrated use cases, the Redmi Note 13’s autonomy was around average, while the autonomy of video streaming and calling was considerably above average. The Redmi Note 13’s 33W charger, which comes with the device, was able to fully charge the phone in 1 hour and 12 minutes, placing it in the top half of our database.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G battery’s overall score was hampered by weak performances in autonomy and efficiency, when compared to its predecessor the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 5G. Despite its large 5000 mAh battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G’s autonomy performance struggled in moderate usage, with the device lasting 50 hours and 24 minutes, which ranked the device in the bottom half of our database. In addition, the device’s loss of 5.3% of power per night in our indoor test was relatively high compared to other devices, indicating an elevated consumption even during rest mode. Moreover, the device’s battery gauge was inaccurate. As the screen displayed 20% of power left, our experts measured actual remaining power of 16.9%. However, autonomy was relatively decent during gaming and intense usage.

Reviewing Xiaomi's Redmi Note 13 5G budget smartphone, costing under £300 in the UK. This well-specced phone lacks some of the polish of the Pro version, but the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G still boasts a 108MP camera, HyperOS shenanigans, a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen and 5000mAh battery. But how's the gaming experience, is that camera any good, and does the battery life suck? I've been testing it as my full time phone for a week now so here's the review! My take-away verdict is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 5G makes quite a few compromises to reach that sub-£300 budget price. For one, gamers will be disappointed if trying to play anything more complex than PubG. Genshin Impact is very much a no-no! Battery life has been hit and miss too.

The Redmi Note 13 5G covers a lot of bases for £279, and there have been a couple of subtle but welcome design improvements over previous models. I still rate its 120Hz OLED display quite highly, too. On the other hand, its battery life appears to have taken a slight step back, while Xiaomi’s new HyperOS UI is hardly the MIUI upgrade we were hoping for. The choice of processor might represent a modest upgrade, meanwhile, but you can get faster performance for less money elsewhere. Together with a weirdly inconsistent camera setup, the Redmi Note 13 5G doesn’t feel like it’s on quite so solid ground as some of its predecessors. It’s a good phone, but there’s better value to be found elsewhere without looking very far.

The Redmi Note 13 5G is more than just a 5G smartphone, it offers a super sleek 7.6 mm bezel-less design, a stunning 120 Hz AMOLED display in its segment, exceptional performance (Dimensity 6080) with as much as 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, and a great value for budget-conscious users. The Redmi Note 13 5G is available in multiple variants from 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage option to as much as 12 GB RAM+ 256 GB storage options. You can also grab the smartphone with some ongoing offers as well.

However, for one reason or another, it seems Xiaomi made too many compromises with the specs sheet for its own good. We don't get why there are no stereo speakers. The same goes for HDR video support on the display. We can't quite get over the 1080p video capture cap as well. Having tested the phone extensively, we can't say we are totally satisfied with its battery endurance either. The thing is that Xiaomi appears to be working against itself in this particular instance. As we mentioned, you could easily get something like Xiaomi's own Poco X6 and enjoy a much more rounded experience. All things considered, the Redmi Note 13 is not a bad phone in any particular way but is arguably not the best value package at its price point.

The Redmi Note 13 5G offers modest upgrades without pushing any boundaries. It does face a fair bit of competition in its segment. If your priority lies with a clean Android experience for example, Motorola’s Moto G54 (review) and OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite (review) might seem better options. For cameras, there are some areas where the Redmi Note 13 offers reliable performance, but the Realme 11 5G (review) can offer relatively better results. All said and done, the Redmi Note 13 5G comes across as a solid choice if you value a long-lasting battery, a tall display, reliable performance (including gaming), and relatively fast charging. While design preferences are subjective, I find it to my satisfaction as well.

When you draw the bottom line, the Redmi Note 13 5G comes up as a well balanced phone with solid performance, decent camera quality and very good battery life, all at a reasonable price. The quirky MIUI software, however, seems like the big stumbling block, and we specifically mean the way it kills background apps and fails to deliver push notifications on time for some apps. This issue has been around for nearly a decade, and we have no idea why it's not fixed yet. If you can live with that, the Redmi Note 13 5G seems like a pretty good choice.

I love my job. I really do! But you simply shouldn't expect me to paint a smartphone like the Redmi Note 13 5G in glowing terms for your mind's eye and pretend that I'm enthusiastically clicking my tongue in the face of an amazing piece of innovative engineering. Instead, the box, which is really neat, can be described with three words: "cheap, generic, good". This is because Xiaomi has once again assembled a smartphone that is easily sufficient for 95 percent of all smartphone users, looks nice, and is also inexpensive with a price tag starting at €279. Honestly speaking, what else should Xiaomi do? For just under €300, you get a smartphone with a great display and decent battery life that has a good camera and an okay processor on board. To be honest, I would have liked to see at least Android 14 onboard and maybe little things like stereo speakers or Wi-Fi 6 support. However, you know what? The Redmi Note 13 Ultra 5G still gets four stars from me. This is because it simply doesn't make any significant mistakes and is a really great, everyday smartphone.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 13R Pro seems like an amazing smartphone and it has all the right specs and features that make it a perfect mid-ranger for the price it asks for. It has an amazing display, performance-oriented chipset, decent camera, and an exceptional battery considering the speed this smartphone can deliver. Judging by all that, the pricing seems justified. But there’s a tiny issue with this smartphone. It’s an almost replica of the Redmi Note 13 model. A replica internally while externally, the camera island is a bit bigger. While the Redmi Note 13R Pro, which has the same specs and costs around $280, albeit slightly heavier and thicker. So, it is unclear why to pay the extra money for Redmi Note 13R Pro when you can get the same thing for less.
