A beefed up selfie-cam is probably a good way to jazz things up without a massive investment. No wonder we've been seeing much of them in the midrange. The front LED flash narrows the list of potential competitors to just a few names. The likes of the HTC Desire Eye and the Oppo N-series don't really count here. The Sony Xperia C3 is clearly in a lower league but it's exactly the place where a selfie cam can be a key selling point. Even more so if paired with an LED flash.

As far as Sony is concerned, the company's marketing strategy for the Xperia C3 Dual is spot on. For those who want a competent smartphone which can capture great selfies, the Xperia C3 Dual is the best bet at the moment. With its official price of Rs. 23,990, the phone competes directly with the HTC Desire 816 (review | pictures). HTC's phablet has a bigger screen and an infinitely better rear camera, whereas the battery life on the Sony Xperia C3 Dual is better. Both phones are great in their own rights, so in the end it boils down to the brand affinity of the buyer.

For selfie lovers, Sony has kept to its word and the Xperia C3 offers a great front facing camera. For an average smartphone user, this a good enough smartphone with large real-state on the display, smooth UI and decent performance. The design and build is impressive and even the hardware manages to work well, but at a price tag of Rs. 22,000 you can get a much more powerful smartphone, something like the Moto X or even the new Moto G.
