The 12th Gen- and Intel Arc-based LOQ 15 succeeds in reaching the lowest price point possible in this category, but the concessions are too steep to recommend it. For shoppers who simply can’t spend any more than this on a laptop, you do have an option, but it’s not near the best value just because it’s the least expensive. For a couple hundred dollars more, the Nitro V 15 is a much better deal, relative to its build and performance. The other LOQ configurations are more worth your consideration, too. But, since we didn't test those, we suggest hitting up the Acer Nitro V 15 next in your search for an affordable gaming laptop.

If you’re OK with a gaming laptop that delivers the bare minimum for your gaming needs, allowing you to save more money for your pockets, the LOQ 15 is one of the best budget gaming laptops of 2024.

The 2024 Lenovo LOQ is an insanely affordable entry-level gaming laptop that’s also suitable for school and office tasks. The dedicated GPU and powerful CPU will let you run less demanding games a lot more smoothly than other budget laptops. The full-sized chiclet keyboard is comfortable to type on, the rear-facing ports will keep your workspace uncluttered, and the webcam features a convenient physical off-switch. Lenovo’s AI-powered resource management can either squeeze maximum performance out of the hardware or help you significantly extend the LOQ’s battery life. However, LOQ is an entry-level gaming laptop that won’t give you the performance you need to succeed in competitive gaming. If GPU performance is your top priority, consider the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i Gen 8 (2023).
