The ThinkPad T1g is best understood as a prosumer machine for people who need one laptop that can handle both demanding work applications, like video editing or 3D modeling software, and demanding entertainment like PC games. The T1g’s only real downside is not a trait of the laptop itself. It’s the competition. Asus’ ProArt P16 gets my nod over the T1g, as it can be had with similar hardware at a similar price and offers better overall GPU performance. The Dell XPS 16, Alienware Aurora 16, and Razer Blade 16 are also competitive on value. So, why choose the ThinkPad T1g?
