To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

三星 Galaxy S6的金属机身如果说是三星旗舰机型的一个革新，而最新的Galaxy S7则是一次进化。三星考虑了用户的愿望带回了一些功能如存储空间扩展和IP68防水防尘标准。它的机身经过了重新设计，依然采用了精巧的玻璃／金属组合，可以和市场上所有最优秀的机型一较高下。它机身厚度的增加则是略微让我们惊讶，不过由于边缘圆滑这不会造成任何问题。机身内的额外空间给了更大容量的电池。SAMOLED屏幕相比以前更进一步，更高的亮度和准确的色彩都让我们惊喜不已。

Galaxy S7的性能也给我们留下了很好的印象，不过竞争对手Snapdragon 820可能会更胜一筹。三星的处理器在负载下会略微降频，不过还处在可以接受的范围之内，同时用户可以得到更合理的机身温度。它的另外一个新功能是1200万像素的主相机，它的优秀品质让人无话可说。尽管相比前代机型像素数有所降低，但它拍摄的照片锐利明亮效果反而更胜一筹。

三星Galaxy S7是最优秀的智能手机之一，不过并没有大幅的创新。

不过，它并不是所有的改变都是正面的：相比前代产品，你需要接受红外发信器的退役，同时三星没有为它带来最完备的连接性。它没有采用USB-C接口，这可能源自于和三星Gear VR的兼容问题，不过这并不能成为不支持更快的数据传输标准的借口。我们认为Galaxy S7一个更大的问题在于它和最近的其他三星智能手机非常相近，这也来自软件系统的缘故。安卓6的一些新功能没有得到应用，同时TouchWiz从上一代以来没有什么变化。可能重点还是这款智能手机缺乏创新。它最新的一个功能可能是屏幕的Always-On功能，不过它会在一定程度上影响电池续航。

当然，我们可能是在吹毛求疵，因为Galaxy S7已经是目前能够买到最优秀的智能手机之一了。在未来几个月中情况可能会变得更有趣，因为一些竞争厂商将会推出新的旗舰机型。在未来几天中我们也会测试尺寸较大的Galaxy S7 Edge机型。
