This is a gorgeous and performant laptop I think is the absolute business. Looking for cheaper alternatives? You can’t go far wrong with the MacBook Air 13-inch M3 (from $1,099), while the Microsoft Surface Pro 11 (from $999) remains a compelling 2-in-1 choice. After an AI laptop that’s a little bigger? Then look no further than the excellent Asus ProArt P16 (from $1,899). Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got more crappy dinosaurs for the PX13 to work its AI magic on.

After spending nearly a month with this laptop, I keep coming back to the same feeling. That this is what a Gaming MacBook would be, if Apple made one, other than the fact it runs Windows. This laptop looks and feels a lot like a MacBook Pro, and that’s what I love so much about this, along with the beautiful OLED touch screen, and pretty decent battery life. Despite the AI fluff on the ProArt PX13, it does indeed deserve an Editor’s Choice. It really nails just about every metric that it needs to. Sure, it’s pricey, but when you look at the specs – including an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 inside – you’ll understand why it is over $2,000. And that’s before the tariffs.

The AI robot mouse is unforgivable, but the ProArt PX13 deserves a rave review and Editors' Choice honors. It doesn't have the software-compatibility question mark the Arm-powered PZ13 tablet does, and its convertible design is more convenient for presentations and touch-screen apps if not sketching and scribbling. The HP Spectre x360 and Lenovo Yoga 9i are better values for those who stick to office tasks, but the Asus' raw speed and DialPad are a winning combination for content creators.

So where does that leave the Asus ProArt GoPro edition? Well, in the spirit of the name, it feels like the ProArt PX13 has finally gone pro. It’s a sleek, stylish laptop that achieves a feeling like it's worth the lofty price tag attached to it. The move to Strix Halo has liberated this 13-inch machine from bad battery life and turned it into a serious portable creation station. And looking past the lack of a full-size SD card slot and the weird StoryCube and MusTree apps, this has the chops to really power through your workload. My only complaint with Asus ProArt PX13 GoPro Edition is that I want a bit more battery life, especially having seen what Apple and HP are getting out of their laptops. That said, I didn't have any issues with it dying during my work, though I didn't really travel that far with it.

It easily handled my typical video and photo editing chores, even on battery power alone, and the included GoPro features like the Storyblocks cloud storage are a nice option for action cam users. The convertible configuration and touchscreen with pen option are also useful to artists and photo editors. However, this laptop is not cheap at $3,000, which is the same price as a high-end 16-inch MacBook Pro M4 Pro.
