PocketBook Era Color 支持多种格式，包括 CBR 和 CBZ 电子漫画格式。还可以阅读 Kindle AZW 和 AZW 3 格式，但前提是内容不受版权保护。您还可以阅读以下格式的电子书：ACSM、CHM、DJVU、DOC、DOCX、EPUB、EPUB(DRM)、FB2、FB2.ZIP、HTM、HTML、MOBI、PDF、PDF (DRM)、PRC、RTF 和 TXT。
如果你点击一本书，预装的电子阅读软件就会自动启动，允许你对阅读体验进行大量调整：你可以分三步选择行距，还可以选择到屏幕边缘的间隙应该有多大。如果字与字之间不分隔，也可以进行选择。

显示屏 - 彩色显示屏的明亮照明
长宽比为 4:3 的 7 英寸显示屏是一款方便的电子阅读器。不过，喜欢大字体的用户会发现使用空间更大的显示屏会更方便，因为在 Era Color 上需要频繁翻页。
显示屏基于 E-Ink 的 Kaleido 3 面板，可显示 4,096 级色彩和 16 级灰度。其分辨率取决于所显示的内容：灰度可显示 1,872 x 1,404 像素，而彩色只能显示一半。
这也是由于电子墨水显示屏所采用的特殊技术，因为微小的墨水颗粒实际上是通过电荷定位的。彩色滤光片用于显示不同的色调，从而降低了分辨率。电子阅读器的色彩显示强度一般，但我们发现 InkPad Color 3 的色彩显示强度更高。
电子墨水显示屏需要照明，以便在光线不足的条件下也能阅读。PocketBook Era Color 的亮度可达 92 cd/m²，绝对够用。色温和亮度都可以进行多级调节或由设备自动调节。
