Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 980 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 99 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 980 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.

微星GL72的最大优势在于仅1000美元（约6502人民币）的起售价。它带给用户的是强劲的酷睿i7-6700HQ处理器，GTX 960M显卡，NVMe固态硬盘，模块光驱，和易于维护升级的内部构造。它的性能和处理器温度控制都十分出色，可以适合全高清运行最新游戏，同时显卡可以通过微星Afterburner超频。

不过它节省成本的地方也十分明显。除了没有键盘背光，屏幕的背光也较暗，同时TN面板需要重新校准色彩。它的扬声器严重缺少低频，电池续航即使对于游戏本来说也非常短。它的风扇噪音较大，即使是在低负载时也能明显听到，显卡和处理器均为板载所以无法升级。它的机身较厚，在设计上较为过时。

如果你的预算较为紧张，那么GL72的优秀游戏性能依然值得考虑。除此之外，它的系统噪音较大，同时电池续航有限，户外实用性也较差。
