Lenovo’s ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 is a polished 16-inch mobile workstation with an excellent OLED display, a long-lasting battery, and a legendary ThinkPad keyboard. Meanwhile, the laptop's modern connectivity and suitably thin profile make it a fitting high-power companion to travel with. However, the trade-off for that efficiency and portability is peak performance. Equipped with a comparatively low-wattage GPU, the P16 Gen 3 can’t match the raw horsepower of Dell’s thicker Pro Max Plus workstations we've recently tested, which otherwise present feature parity. Even so, Lenovo’s ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 remains an appealing option for those seeking a meaningful step up in performance from the ThinkPad P1 Gen 8 without sacrificing battery life.
