Reviews for the Oppo Reno13 Pro

After using the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G for some time, I’m very satisfied with this phone’s performance. It not only boasts a powerful camera system and innovative AI photography and productivity tools but also features a refined design, excellent display, and flagship-level performance. If you enjoy photography, the Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G is definitely worth considering. Aside from the wide-angle lens, all other cameras perform exceptionally well, capturing stunning photos in various scenarios thanks to excellent (software-driven) photography technology. The telephoto lens, in particular, not only captures detailed distant views but also easily takes beautiful portraits. Overall, the Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G is perfect for those seeking a unique design without prioritising hardware performance. Reno 13 Pro 5G is currently on sale for only $999.00 at Oppo, JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Officeworks, and Kogan. The original asking price was fair, but now with $300.00 off? This is considered to be a bargain!

I have really enjoyed using the Reno 13 Pro, it’s a solid all-rounder that doesn’t fall short in any one area. The chassis feels much more premium, the software is slick, the performance is solid, and the cameras do a respectable job. The main thing that differentiates the Reno 13 Pro is the number of AI features included. Most mid-rangers get a pared-back selection, but that’s not the case here, there are just as many tools as you’ll find on Oppo’s flagship devices. So, if you love AI, it might be an obvious pick, but otherwise, the competition is fierce. The Poco F7 Ultra just launched at the same price, and for a lot of people, I can see it being the more attractive option. It has the fastest chip around, the Snapdragon 8 Elite and a comparable set of cameras, making it a very compelling package. However, the Reno 13 Pro has advantages of its own, including double the storage, a larger battery, and a more robust AI offering at the same price. The right one for you, as always, will depend on your needs.

The Oppo Reno 13 Pro is a solid mid-range phone with a good-looking display, fast charging, and much better cameras than you normally see in this price range. It's a shame, then, that a significant price hike over its predecessor (not to mention over close rivals like the Google Pixel 9a) hurts its overall appeal.

There are a few points in which the Reno 13 Pro falls short of expectations: performance is middling at best for this price, HDR brightness is bizarrely unimpressive and the software is obnoxiously overstuffed with extraneous apps. If these are dealbreakers for you, I’d recommend turning your eye instead to the Xiaomi 14T Pro. It’s much faster, brighter and cheaper. The software is just as cluttered as Oppo’s, however, and it lacks the Reno 13 Pro’s exemplary battery life. And stamina is the main reason to give the Reno 13 Pro a second look. It’s one of the longest-lasting phones you can get at any price, thanks in the main part to its absolutely huge battery. It also includes a decent telephoto camera, which Apple, Google and Samsung don’t offer in their mid-rangers. All told it’s a solid effort, and well worth considering alongside the more established brands.

There’s lots of things to like about the Oppo Reno 13 Pro, and it’s great to see just how good phones in the mid-range are now. It means you no longer have to fork out huge sums to get a well-performing camera for example, which is important to a lot of people. Now, let’s be fair, this is not a perfect camera system. But, the main camera does a great job and it’s nice to have a telephoto that is actually decent at this price point. It’s a shame not to have a well-performing ultrawide to complete the trio, but I suppose there has to be a compromise somewhere. Aside from the camera, the Reno 13 Pro look stylish and has some decent tough credentials. I’d like to see a brighter screen, but it’s not terrible. I’m impressed by the big battery life, too.

When I first learned about the price hike on the Reno 13 Pro, I'll admit, I was nervous. The Reno 12 Pro's main selling point was its robust suite of AI tools at an affordable price point, and with a higher price, the expectations are higher, too. However, it didn't take long for me to see how the Reno 13 Pro has risen to the occasion. It looks and feels more like a flagship than ever before, and my main gripe with the older model, which was its lack of processing power, has been addressed handily with the Dimensity 8350. It feels like a different class of device, and that's good, because it's priced like one too. The cameras have seen serious upgrades as well.

If you mainly shoot portraits, then perhaps there’s an argument to be made for the Reno13 Pro. However, if you want to make the most out of your thousand-dollar purchase, you can easily find several alternatives (recent examples: Xiaomi 14T Pro, Poco X7 Pro, Honor 200 and 200 Pro) that exceed Reno13 Pro in at least two ways for less or equal money. The OPPO Reno13 Pro retails at S$999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration, and can be purchased at local telcos (M1, StarHub, Singtel), OPPO Concept Stores, the official OPPO website, OPPO Online Flagship Stores on Amazon, iShopChangi, KrisShop, Lazada, Shopee, TikTok and Zalora, major consumer electronic stores, and other authorised retailers.

The OPPO Reno13 Pro continues the Reno series’ compelling philosophy, but the Reno series itself may suffer in the long run as its competition gets more challenging. These phones are priced at the upper midrange level, which makes them a hard sell. We’ve mentioned this in our OPPO Reno11 Pro review before. Being S$999 makes it difficult to recommend these phones because there are flagship-lite competitors with more performance. It's also a few hundred bucks shy of proper high-end devices with flagship hardware, which a hardworking student can manage if they save up for another month or so. Its value problem has been exacerbated this year beyond a price increase. Reno13 Pro is more expensive than the Xiaomi 14T Pro (S$949) at the same 12GB RAM +512GB storage configuration.

The OPPO Reno13 Pro sits in a pretty awkward price point. On one hand, there are mid-range devices that you can get at a lower price point with minimal tradeoffs. But on the flip side you just have to increase your budget by a bit to get some of the more reasonably priced flagships. It does what it does well, no doubt, but most of what it really does isn’t so much visible from the spec sheet. In all fairness, the same can be said of most phones these days, where their key selling points revolve around their generative AI features. While the brand’s take on certain software features like Aqua Dynamics is certainly fun to mess around with, it’s up to you to decide if that sort of thing is worth the premium that the OPPO Reno13 Pro asks compared to its alternatives.

Being the tallest building in Tokyo, the Skytree’s Tembo Galleria stands 450m tall, and its glass floors give you another perspective on the incredible engineering done for one of Tokyo’s most iconic modern structures. And that wraps up exploring Japan using the cameras of the OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G! Staying true to its promise, OPPO has a solid flagship killer option with the Reno13 Pro, especially if cameras are your main priority. The OPPO Reno13 Pro 5G is priced at Php 43,999 and available at all authorized OPPO stores nationwide and on OPPO’s official stores in Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

The Oppo Reno13 Pro 5G continues where its predecessor left off by once again offering good cameras and excellent battery stamina in a slim, attractive design. There's even more emphasis on AI features, as well as a new underwater photography mode. More importantly, the processor for the new version is much improved, though it's still not close to flagship standards. I was pleasantly surprised at how slim and light the Oppo Reno13 Pro felt in the hand. It weighs 195g, which is remarkable for a smartphone with a 6.8-inch display and a 5,800mAh battery. The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, for example, is 221g with a similar display, and a smaller 5,060mAh battery. A big reason for this is the silicon-carbon battery used by the Oppo Reno13 Pro, which packs more energy in a smaller form.

The OPPO Reno 13 Pro 5G is a well-rounded smartphone with a premium design, impressive cameras, and long battery life. However, at PHP 43,999, it’s not the most affordable option, especially when you consider that adding a bit more to your budget could get you a flagship-grade device with better performance. If you’re a fan of OPPO and value features like the IP69 rating and a versatile camera system, the Reno 13 Pro 5G might still be worth it. But if you’re looking for the best value for your money, you might want to explore other options.

Honestly speaking, I wasn’t blown away by the Oppo Reno 13 Pro when I first saw it, especially when it comes to its design. However, after using it for a while, I started to warm up to it and realise that flashy designs are not for everyone. In fact, honest and clean designs like the Reno 13 Pro are most probably the ones that can better stand the test of time. It’s clear that Oppo wants to establish the Reno 13 Pro as a “mini flagship”, delivering premium designs and some premium features for a price that won’t require you to sell your kidney. The Oppo Reno 13 Pro is just that. However, the market has become more intense than ever before, making it harder for phones like this to stand out without offering great specs at attractive price points.

The Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G, priced at Rs. 49,999, offers a solid package for those seeking a mid-range premium device. It delivers a vibrant display, solid battery life, and a capable processor, along with water resistance ratings and underwater shooting mode. While it ticks many boxes, some areas hold it back from being a top-tier premium phone. Occasional lag, bloatware, and a lack of wireless charging make it fall short of expectations. The camera, aided by AI tools, shows potential but still requires improvement in overall quality and AI accuracy. Oppo is reportedly working on updates to fix some of these issues, so there's hope for future enhancements. However, the design, sturdiness, and overall looks of the device are impressive and eye-catching.

Without any question, the Reno13 Pro is a significant step up for the Reno series. It offers a premium design, excellent camera performance that ditches any filler shooters, and flagship-level performance. If OPPO can price it competitively, the Reno 13 Pro has the potential to be a serious contender in the affordable flagship segment. What we know so far is that OPPO is giving a nice pre-order promo for the Reno13 Pro: aside from a pair of Enco Air4 TWS earbuds for those ordering via Shopee (Enco Buds2 Pro for those ordering via Lazada), you also get 1 year liquid and screen protection and up to Php 2,500 in vouchers.

If you are a photography enthusiast or someone who just wants a reliable and well-built smartphone, the Reno 13 Pro is what you have been waiting for. Reno 13 Pro is a wholesome package offering a solid experience. In the world of smartphones, brands often hold back features to distinguish between flagship, mid-range, and budget offerings. However, this trend is rapidly changing. The OPPO Reno 13 Pro, which I’ve been using for over three weeks, challenges the status quo. Offering a near-flagship experience at less than half the price, it excels in design, display, camera, performance, and battery life.

If we consider the OPPO Reno13 Pro in isolation, it is a solid phone. It boasts one of the best displays available on the market, along with decent cameras, a sleek design, and genuinely impressive AI features. However, isolation is the keyword here. At its starting price of Rs 49,999, the handset comes with a less powerful processor than the Realme GT 6, which comes at a significantly lower price. Having said that, the phone does uniquely position itself by appealing to those who want an all-rounder phone that offers cutting-edge AI features and the easiest way to share files and images with iOS devices.

The Oppo Reno 13 Pro 5G offers some improvement over its predecessor, the Reno 12 Pro. You get fresh design aesthetics and a better-built quality over previous Reno series phones. The display is crisp and offers vibrant colours to make the whole streaming experience delightful. The performance has seen a bigger jump over its predecessor and is now in line with the rest of the competition, if not ahead. The cameras were a mixed-bag experience during the testing period. On the one hand, you get well-detailed shots, but the shift in colour temperature between different sensors spoils the whole mood.

So, should you buy the OPPO Reno 13 Pro? I honestly do think that this is a great phone. The cameras are actually good and the telephoto camera is especially great but the auto lens switching is holding it back. It ultimately boils down to the price – which is RM2,499 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version. This is a really high price, honestly. And this price is where – I think – the biggest drawback is. The price is a big hike over the previous generation. However, if you can get it at a good deal, then this is a good phone after all.

Oppo Reno 13 and 13 Pro have received some solid upgrades compared to its predecessor, which makes them a great choice for older Oppo Reno phone owners as well as for users who just want a new phone. The new smartphones provide a satisfactory experience in every aspect. The displays of both phones are quite impressive in terms of picture quality and clarity. The performance is also quite fabulous. It’s not as fast as the flagship chipsets but is faster than most mid-range and high-end chips. The camera performance of the two phones is also quite satisfactory. They won’t come anywhere close to the performance of the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series but they are more than good enough. The battery life and charging speed are even more impressive than anything else on the two phones.
