With a starting price of Rs. 24,999 for its base 8 GB/ 128 GB variant and with an 8 GB/ 256 GB variant available at Rs 26,999, the OnePlus Nord CE5 is comfortably one of the best phones you can get in a budget in the vicinity of Rs 25,000. We were especially impressed with its battery prowess, and we can see people liking its design (looking like the iPhone 16 is not a bad thing in this segment). The phone does well in other departments too, generally delivering a smooth performance, handling gaming well, and comes with good main and selfie cameras. But good performer though it is, the Nord CE5 has a lot of competition to deal with. Interestingly, one of its biggest challenges comes from one of its co-founder’s new brands – the Nothing Phone (3a) comes with a very distinct design, clean interface and better camera set up and stereo speakers, although it has a much smaller battery and no charger.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 nails the basics with smooth performance, clean UI, good battery life, and a vibrant display. While it’s not a major upgrade, it holds its ground in daily use. However, the cameras and audio setup leave room for improvement, especially at this price point. The OnePlus Nord CE 5 was launched in India a few weeks back at a competitive price of Rs 24,999. At this price point, it directly competes with the likes of the Nothing Phone 3a, iQOO Neo 10R, and Moto Edge 60 Fusion. We have tested all three phones, and each of them dominates the segment in its own way. Hence, standing out is not easy in the sub-Rs 25,000 segment. I have spent the past few weeks testing it in our Digit Test Lab and under real-world conditions. So, what’s the story with the OnePlus Nord CE 5 this time? What extra can it offer that its rivals can’t? Well, here’s where it shines and where it still has work to do. Welcome friends, this is the review of the OnePlus Nord CE 5. Let’s dive in!

The OnePlus Nord CE5 is a well-rounded mid-range device that delivers on the fundamentals while incorporating a few standout features. It doesn't chase trends or try to impress with flashy design - instead, it stays true to its "Core Edition" roots with a practical, understated look and solid build. Performance from the Dimensity 8350 Apex is commendable. One notable highlight here is the battery life. With a 5,200mAh cell (and even more in some regions like India), the Nord CE5 offers excellent endurance. 80W fast charging keeps downtime to a minimum, even if the charge times aren't chart-topping. The OLED display is bright and HDR10+ certified, and you get the latest Android 15 with OxygenOS 15, which comes with a promise of four major OS updates, along with a generous set of AI features.

Personally I'd rather grab the Nord 5, for £100 extra. This more budget-friendly alternative lacks some features like the Plus key and always on display. The OnePlus Nord CE5 also serves up a less capable camera, a not-quite-as-sharp-or-poppy screen and gaming isn't as smooth. Oh, and that mono speaker - eesh. Still, while rivals like the Nothing Phone 3A undoubtedly offer more for the price, the OnePlus Nord CE5 isn't a bad blower. The screen is still bright and nippy, you can play Wuthering Waves with a stable-ish frame rate and OxygenOS 15 is still a cracker.

OnePlus Nord CE5 5G delivers where it matters—a large, bright display; excellent battery life; smooth software, and reliable everyday performance. It retains the price tag of its predecessor while bringing enough improvements to justify an upgrade.

Upgrading to the Nord 5 does net you quite a few bonuses, starting with a better camera experience. Compared with the OnePlus Nord CE5, you’ll enjoy more natural looking contrast and bold colours, which I personally like - plus a 50MP selfie camera, which I don’t. Too much detail, you see. The OnePlus Nord 5 also offers a performance boost, thanks to the Snapdragon smarts. Gaming is certainly a smoother experience, although both the Nord CE5 and 5 sport the same battery capacity and charging. OxygenOS 15 is mostly the same across both smartphones. However, the OnePlus Nord CE5 is lacking a Plus key as well as always on display, along with some other settings.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is a well-rounded mid-range device that hits the right notes for everyday users. With a massive 7,100mAh battery, a vibrant AMOLED display, solid performance from the Dimensity 8350 Apex chip, and a clean OxygenOS experience, it delivers excellent value for its price. While it skips out on premium touches like stereo speakers and the iconic alert slider, these omissions are easy to overlook, given what it offers in return. If you're looking for a no-nonsense smartphone that goes big on battery, reliable performance, and clean software, the Nord CE 5 earns its place on your shortlist.

The hardware on offer won’t blow your socks off, but it’s functional and inoffensive, with strengths that should mean it’ll last you a good few years of use, especially with OnePlus’ software update commitment. OxygenOS and OnePlus AI efforts are the most attractive and cutting-edge aspects of the Nord CE 5, so if you’re after a good AI-laden smartphone experience in 2025 on a budget, the CE 5 can deliver in a way some rivals can’t.If it’s more power, a larger battery, faster charging, a more premium build or more capable cameras you’re after, here are some alternatives. The £309 Poco X7 Pro has a better chip and the Samsung Galaxy A56 can be had with 256GB of storage for less than £300 on Amazon; sporting a more versatile camera system, as well as that extended software support. There’s also the Nothing Phone (3a) to consider, which serves up a triple camera of its own, and a similarly clean software experience, in a much more interesting design, for the same or less (depending on where you look).

The OnePlus Nord CE5 is an accomplished new affordable-mid-range option to file alongside the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion and the Nothing Phone (3a). It doesn’t have the bold design of those rivals, nor a number of preceding OnePlus phones, but its performance and software support stand as a noteworthy improvement over the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. Besides that, the phone’s stamina is exemplary, while its camera system is nicely balanced, with an ultra-wide that doesn’t suffer as much as we’re used to seeing compared to the main camera. There are bolder, more interesting options within the £300-ish smartphone category, but the OnePlus Nord CE5 offers competence in all of the ways that count.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is a great device for customers looking for a mid-ranger that delivers the best price-to-performance ratio. It offers solid performance and massive battery life, making it a power-packed phone overall. The OnePlus Nord CE 5 starts at Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, while the 8GB + 256GB configuration costs Rs 26,999. This is a perfect sweet spot for users who don’t want to go above Rs 30,000 but still want to experience the best performance in this price segment.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 gets the basics right and delivers reliable everyday performance, smooth multitasking, and excellent battery life. The AMOLED display is vibrant, the UI feels clean and responsive, and the built-in AI tools add genuine value without being gimmicky. That said, the plastic back doesn’t feel very premium, the cameras are good but not standout, and the phone does heat up slightly under pressure. Audio is loud but limited to a single speaker, and the absence of stereo sound or a smart alert slider might be missed by some. Overall, the Nord CE 5 is a solid pick for users looking for a well-rounded daily driver with modern features and strong battery support. But if your priorities include top-tier cameras, premium design, or better thermal management, there are other smartphones in this segment worth exploring, including its elder sibling, the Nord 5.

Several of its competitors outdo the Nord CE 5 in one area or another; the Poco X7 Pro is a more powerful performer, the Nothing Phone (3a) and CMF Phone 2 Pro include telephoto cameras and the Pixel 8a has better photographic chops and longer software support. With that being said, few handsets perform as impressively across the board as the OnePlus Nord CE 5. Performance is excellent, battery life is outstanding, the display gets brilliantly bright and nails colour accuracy, software support is above average and the main camera is very competent. The cheap design and lack of an IP rating or Gorilla Glass let it down a bit but even still, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is a fantastic all-rounder available for a very tempting price.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 offers improved performance and better battery life than its predecessor, while also providing a mostly reliable set of cameras. The phone is also slated to receive four years of OS upgrades and five years of security updates. Additionally, it offers useful AI features, although it lacks the Plus Key available on the OnePlus Nord 5. The slightly lacklustre ultrawide camera and the lack of stereo speakers are slightly disappointing to see in this price segment. The biggest rivals of the OnePlus Nord 5 in the same price segment include the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion (Review), Nothing Phone 3a (Review), Infinix GT 30 Pro 5G, and Vivo T4 5G (Review), and it's worth reading our reviews of these handsets before purchasing your next smartphone.

At Rs 24,999, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 is definitely worth it. It sports a big 6.77-inch display, a huge 7,100mAh battery, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and a gorgeous design. While it offers a snappy performance, the Nord CE 5 lags when it comes to hardcore multitasking and graphics-intensive gaming, but it was largely expected given the price point. Having said that, for anybody who seeks an all-rounder smartphone for daily use on a budget, the Nord CE 5 comes highly recommended.

The OnePlus Nord CE5 may be a more affordable sibling to the Nord 5, but it confidently holds its ground with a massive 7,100 mAh battery, solid MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex performance, OIS-backed 50 MP Sony LYT-600 camera, and a sharp 120 Hz AMOLED display – all starting at just ₹22,999 if combined with offers. What we liked the most is the unmatched battery size with 80W fast charging, which comfortably gets you through even two days of use. The Sony LYT-600 camera with OIS clicks sharp, well-balanced photos, while the premium AMOLED panel offers rich visuals and smooth UI transitions. The performance, powered by the Dimensity 8350 Apex and up to 12 GB LPDDR5X RAM, ensures the Nord CE5 isn’t just good for everyday use but also great for gaming.
