Pros
Cons

Reviews for the Google Pixel 11

EN→zh-CNThe Pixel 11 is less about a dramatic hardware upgrade and more about refining Google’s idea of what a modern smartphone should be. The familiar design, compact 197-gram body and excellent 6.3-inch display make it comfortable to use, while the main camera remains the phone’s biggest strength. Images have plenty of detail, strong dynamic range and natural-looking colours, and the 5x telephoto adds useful versatility.

EN→zh-CNThe Pixel 11 is a bigger upgrade than it looks on paper. Yes, it’s $100 more expensive than the Pixel 10 at $899, and the Pixel 11’s performance simply doesn’t match similarly priced flagships. It’s also riddled with upgrades, including double the base storage, a larger primary camera, faster Qi2.2 25W wireless charging, and a slimmer camera bar. I’m a tech journalist, but I’m not a power user.

EN→zh-CNAll in all, it feels as though Google could have released a software update instead of launching the Pixel 11. The external design remains unchanged, while most of the meaningful additions come from new Android features and deeper Gemini integration, capabilities that can also be brought to existing devices.

EN→zh-CNI think there is a very strong case for suggesting the Pixel 11 over the other Pixel 11 series phones, just based on the savings alone. Sure, it doesn’t have the pro camera features like the 120x zoom, but it does take a really good picture, it’s more pocketable, and it comes in some awesome colors so it’s definitely stylish and well-designed. Across the board the Pixel 11 provides a great experience for the average user, and only those who want the better camera and additional features would find this phone lacking too much for their personal taste.

EN→zh-CNFor everyone else, the Pixel 11 Pro's $200 premium is harder to justify than it used to be. The Pro still has better hardware when it comes to cameras and display quality, but Google's base Pixel now shares most of the specs that affect everyday speed, longevity, and charging.

EN→zh-CNReviewers largely agree that the Google Pixel 11 undercuts the Pixel 11 Pro by $200 while matching its RAM, storage, and chip, according to The Verge. Whether that's worth it depends almost entirely on what phone is already in your pocket. The base model starts at $899 with 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and the same Tensor G6 chip found in both Pro models. PCMag calls it the "top value" phone in Google's current lineup, while Trusted Reviews calls it "a tricky sell" at a higher price than last year's Pixel 10.

EN→zh-CNGoogle has given the Pixel 11 a certain simplicity to its design, which is actually a good thing. EN→zh-CNGoogle's Pixel 11 family feel like a sub-step along a pathway to Pixel perfection. Google's mission to streamline its Gemini AI into a useful experience is obvious here, but that software push is incomplete outside the US thanks to the lack of Gemini Intelligence at the time of review. With the low entry price now gone – and discounts on older devices – the Pixel 11 feels expensive.

EN→zh-CNThe $100 price increase mostly disappears once you count what's now included at $899: more base storage, a materially upgraded main sensor, and AI features that run the same as they do on the $1,299 model. Those upgrades make the higher starting price easier to justify. The Pro line makes sense for photographers who lean on extreme zoom, anyone chasing the brightest possible display, or buyers who'd actually use that bundled six months of Google AI Pro.

EN→zh-CNUsing the iPhone 17 for the past year has made me realize just how much I enjoy compact phones. EN→zh-CNAlmost everything that makes a Pixel worth owning is found here. The camera is superb for a phone of this price, the battery is the best in the lineup outside of the largest and most expensive model, software is clean, and the size is right. But almost nothing about it is new. The display carries over, the design is a refinement, and the chip is a modest step up that still can't handle heavy multitasking.

EN→zh-CNI'm a little torn because the biggest problem with the Pixel 11 is that it's just not a very interesting year-over-year upgrade. Aside from slimming down the camera bar and adding a couple of (admittedly neat) AI doohickeys, you could spend less money to get a Pixel 10 and still largely have the same experience if you're upgrading from something significantly older. As I said, the Pixel 11 feels like it exists out of an obligation to always provide a base-level phone in every annual upgrade cycle. But that doesn't make it a bad device at all.

EN→zh-CNTwo things can be true. The Pixel 11 can be an incredible phone and it can also cost too much. Sorry, but if I’m already spending nearly $1K, I might as well spend $200 more and get the Pro, which then unlocks much more. Google almost seems to be forcing your hand to get the more expensive device, simply to make the purchase worth it. EN→zh-CNIn the end, the latest Pixel is a conundrum. It’s the most expensive standard Pixel model we’ve seen so far. Looking at this purely on the surface – and using UK pricing just as an example – last year’s cheapest Pixel 10 was £699. This year’s cheapest Pixel 11 is £879. Nearly £200 more. It is worth pointing out that the cheapest model now comes with 256GB storage, not 128GB like last time, and if you’re to compare the prices of the previous 256GB model with this one, the price increase is a much more palatable £80.
