The Alienware m17 R5 is not an all-around great laptop if you plan to use it for productivity. It's too big and loud to take anywhere, and the disappointing battery life means you'll always have to be plugged in. Combined with a touchpad that's too close to the keyboard, I don't recommend this laptop for work. But this is a gaming laptop, and it doesn't disappoint when it comes to that task. The m17 R5 can play any game in your library, even newer GPU-intensive games, but there are some caveats. Though the 4K display is great for streaming content, don't expect to play many games at that native resolution since the internal specs aren't powerful enough to produce a consistent 60 fps in demanding games.
