低价中国智能手机以前很难达到值得推荐的水准，不过现在大生产商如华为和小米都有很大的提高，用户只需花费200到300美元就可以得到一台全新且非常可靠的智能手机。红米3并没有什么玩具感，更接近于一台专业的中端设备，它在一些关键领域如屏幕品质，机身工艺，电池续航等都做的很好。实际上，这台小米机型在一些方面做得特别突出，如明亮的背光和长续航时间。
在硬件的方面，在年初的这段时间你将会很难找到第二台售价不足160美元，搭配Snapdragon 616处理器和2 GB内存的手机了。我们对于它缺少1080p屏幕，NFC，USB C型接口，和可拆卸后盖等方面感到十分遗憾。不过它仍然是红米2的一个优秀继承者。
小米在新年伊始推出了他们目前为止最优秀的主流智能手机红米3。和同价位的实惠型智能手机相比，它的背光和电池续航都十分出色。
