Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 877 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 90 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 877 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.

Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Switch V 10是一台来自宏碁的全新Windows笔记本电脑。它搭配了可以适合网络浏览和简单办公的凌动处理器。而显卡提供的硬件视频解码则可以帮助处理器缓解常见视频格式播放中带来的负载。这台设备运行安静,且几乎不会变烫。64GB的闪存空间中用户有43GB可以自由支配。需要更大空间的用户可以通过microSD卡拓展。它的键盘对于家庭用途来说绰绰有余,不过可能不太适合手掌尺寸较大的用户。它的IPS屏幕对比度高且可视角度稳定,十分养眼——不过亮度还有待改进。

宏碁Switch V 10是一台十分全面的Windows变形本。

不过,宏碁在它的连接性设计上还需要多下些功夫。如果它能够搭配第二个USB-C接口或在键盘底座上提供一个USB-A 3.0接口将会让它更易于使用。除此之外,宏碁仅仅为它提供一年的质保。我们已经习惯了这家生产商带来的更好用户服务,甚至是更低价位的设备也提供了两年质保,这让我们很难接受。
