EN→zh-CNThe only reason I would recommend the Samsung Galaxy M36 is for its long-term software support. Of course, this does not mean that this humble Galaxy M-series phone will be the first to receive updates (there will be plenty of waiting involved for sure). But those who hang on to their budget phones for years will definitely find it a good enough reason to invest in the Galaxy M36. With the 8GB RAM variant priced at an additional Rs. 1,500, it's a no-brainer to skip the 6GB variant, which we reviewed. However, I find it challenging to recommend the Galaxy M36, as the older M35 offers more value with its larger 6,000mAh battery. That said, Realme's P3 Pro (which has now been replaced with the P4 Pro) currently retails at a much lower price of Rs. 19,999 on Realme's website (since launch) and is a much better deal as it offers a better camera, vegan leather design, and a bigger battery with faster charging. Nothing's CMF Phone 2 Pro is also a solid purchase for those who would like to try out something different.

EN→zh-CNThe Samsung Galaxy M36 5G review shows that Samsung continues to deliver a balanced mid-range package. It offers a premium in-hand feel, smooth display, reliable battery life, and a user-friendly UI backed by long-term updates. The main camera captures natural-looking shots, making it a good choice for casual photographers. However, the phone’s heating under heavy load, dated notch design, and lack of a charger in the box may disappoint some buyers. If you value brand trust, software updates, and a refined UI experience over raw gaming power, the Galaxy M36 5G stands out in its segment.

EN→zh-CNAt Rs 17,499, the Galaxy M36 5G feels like a step down from its predecessor in ways that are hard to justify. That said, when judged on its own, it holds up reasonably well—with solid battery life, an attractive design, great display, dependable and feature-packed software, and cameras that deliver good results in most situations. Its biggest shortcoming is performance, where it trails rivals and occasionally shows minor lags during everyday use.

EN→zh-CNLastly, the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G houses a 5,000mAh battery. The handset supports 25W of fast charging, which actually seems to be a bit low compared to the competition. Apart from this, you get an in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone offers 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS + GLONASS, and USB Type-C port for connectivity. The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G sure seems to be an interesting device in this price segment. The handset offers a unique design, which surely stands out to me. It also features a decent display and an interesting set of AI features. That said, the phone still faces a lot of heat from the likes of CMF Phone 2 Pro, Realme P3 Pro, iQOO Z10x, and more.
