At this point, we're just comparing two fantastic portable PCs though. You can't really go wrong with either. The XPS 13 is going to provide a great all-around experience, and yes, it's a bit lighter and more inexpensive than the 2-in-1. If a clamshell is what you're in the market for, then the XPS 13 is for you.

With a good IPS display, sleek and premium design, top of the line processor, impressive battery life and some extra features such as good speakers, fingerprint-laden power button and more, the XPS 13 (2019) seems like a laptop that has something for everyone. It can be used by power users for media consumption and even for playing light games. However, the device seems most ideal for on-the-go users who like to get things done while travelling or commuting.

Dell supercharged our favorite laptop by upgrading the XPS 13 with 10th-Gen Comet Lake processors. Combine that outstanding performance with a gorgeous 4K display; a premium, ultraportable chassis; and a decent keyboard, and it's no wonder the XPS 13 is our favorite laptop. The only real fault with the XPS 13 is the 4K model's below-average battery life, which is easily avoided by going with the 1080p version.
