EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionThe Asus ZenPad 3S 10 has an iPad-like design, but not quite the quality. However it offers the flexibility of Android, the QHD screen is wonderful and strong audio, a decent amount of power and expandable storage sweeten the deal further. It’s just a shame the battery life isn’t better.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionFrom a hardware perspective, there's not a lot missing when you compare the ZenPad 3S 10 to the new 9.7-inch iPad. The Asus is actually thinner, which may be preferable.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionThe Asus ZenPad 3S 10 is one of the best-designed pieces of tablet hardware I’ve yet seen. But the software made my time with it a chore, and I actively sought to not use it. That isn’t good.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionAnd indeed, we saw a lot else to like about the ZenPad 3S 10. The impressive display, extreme trimness, media-handling performance, and audio output all make it a worthy contender among iPad Air-size Android competitors. Add in the solid performance (battery notwithstanding), the 64GB of built-in storage that's expandable via MicroSD, and the relatively light weight, and you’ll find the ZenPad 3S 10 an attractive package for $299, based on what else is on the market around that price.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionThe ZenPad 3S 10 is a mixed bag. While I found it good enough for what I use a tablet for (primarily media consumption and light productivity), there are so many areas where ASUS could have improved it. The bottom-firing speakers and physical navigation buttons are mild annoyances, but the lack of any multi-window functionality is a huge issue for anyone looking to be productive. In addition, the smaller battery means you will might have to bring a charger for long car trips or extended binge-watching sessions.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionThere’s nothing about this tablet that would stop us recommending it, but nor does it stand out as the best option.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionAsus is touting a rather large game with the ZenPad 3S 10. As I mentioned in the intro for this review, the company’s goal is to offer a solid tablet experience for both professional and personal use at an affordable price. That’s not an easy feat to achieve by any means, so did it pay off for Asus with the ZenPad 3S 10?

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionAsus is delivering solid value for the money at $299 for a 2048-by-1536, 10-inch, 64GB tablet. Yes, there are better tablets out there—but not for this price. The ZenPad 3S 10 gives you the multimedia chops you'd expect from a tablet costing $100-200 more. But it's important to know where the ZenPad's limits are. Android doesn't have the range of tablet-oriented games you'll find on the iOS platform, or the quality of productivity apps you'll find on Windows. And the Mediatek processor here isn't going to rock the world with its gaming performance. But, once again, you have to spend around $500 to get a better processor, or an iOS or Windows tablet with this kind of screen. Just make sure to keep it near a charger.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionThe Asus ZenPad 3s 10 is a solid enough Android tablet, which at £300 is cheaper than the full-sized iPads. Media fans will enjoy the excellent 9.7-inch 2K display and Hi-Res audio support and there's some useful features for families too, while performance and battery life are perfectly fine.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionDespite its ‘iPad-alike’ tendencies, Asus has done a good job crafting a media-centric slate. It’s light, thin and has a bright display. There should also be decent audio and plenty of power for gaming. It probably won’t sway long time Apple lovers, but it’s another decent Android option out there.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionUnder the hood, the ZenPad 3S 10 has a hexa-core MediaTek 8176 processor that is supported by 4GB of RAM. From our brief experience, everything seemed nice and smooth to operate, with no lag switching between various apps. There is 64GB of onboard storage with a microSD slot allowing for expansion up to 128GB.
