EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionEight-inch Windows 8 tablets are finding their own in their second or third revisions, with decent battery, solid performance, and a fairly uniform set of designs and features. Of the current crop, the Lenovo ThinkPad 8 costs more but has a great design and high screen resolution, and the Acer W4 has the longest battery life.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionThe Asus VivoTab Note 8 puts a lot of utility in your hands for not a lot of money. The addition of a digitizer and included pressure-sensitive stylus will help budding artists and anyone who wants to take handwritten notes on their tablet. Other niceties include one year of cloud-based storage and a warranty that covers accidental drops and spills. Thanks to these added features (which the competition lacks), the VivoTab Note 8 sets itself apart from the other entry-level Windows 8 slate tablets, and is our first Editors' Choice in this nascent category.

EN→zh-CN Archive.org versionDesigned for note taking, the ASUS VivoTab Note 8 delivers a natural, realistic drawing experience with an onboard Wacom stylus that sets it apart from competing Windows 8 slates. The device also comes with an array of fun, useful apps that will boost your creativity. Unfortunately, its below-average battery life and poorly placed Windows button diminish our enthusiasm for this tablet.
