The Redmi A1 is an affordable entry-level smartphone priced at ₹6,499. The smartphone comes with a good-looking design, a 6.5-inch display, Android 12 out-of-the-box, and offers a large 5,000 mAh battery. The Redmi A1 is a good pick if you are looking for an entry-level Android Go smartphone on a budget. The smartphone is powered by Android Go Edition which is designed for budget smartphones with low-end hardware, so if you want the full Android version, you can choose other options on a slightly higher budget.

If you are in the market for a budget phone and cannot afford to spend more than Rs 9,000, the new Redmi A1+ is an option to consider, given stock Android and its overall specifications. However, be prepared, this is a budget phone and temper your expectations around its performance. If your budget is flexible and you can increase it by Rs 1000 to Rs 2,000, I would suggest you look at other options from Redmi, Realme, and Samsung before making your decision.

Overall, Redmi has delivered a decent player in the budget segment with the A3. Its bold design, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and out-of-the-box Android 14 experience are its strong points. Plus, it offers decent camera performance and acceptable overall performance. So if you’re looking for a secondary smartphone, this should work fine! And its target audience is slightly older folks who don’t need a high-performance device. And for first-time smartphone users, the Helio G36’s performance should be adequate. In conclusion, for those on a tight budget and not looking for high performance, the Redmi A3 is a good option at just 12,000 rupees. But if you can spare a bit more from your budget, for just 2,000 more, you can go for the Redmi 13C, which offers better performance and specs.

Xiaomi has proved its point that it is possible to deliver a 5G smartphone under Rs. 9,000. However, the big condition here is 5G connectivity, because it only supports Jio's standalone network. If you are an Airtel subscriber, then you can forget about the phone's USP as it will only connect to 4G networks offered by the operator. A power user who runs numerous apps, multitasks, and demands a quality camera and exceptional battery life may not find the Redmi A4 5G exciting. The phone mainly caters to a first-time smartphone user who's needs are limited to calling and basic social media usage. Keeping this in mind, Xiaomi's Redmi A4 5G does things a bit differently by packing all the essentials into an attractive form factor. It seems like an attractive phone if you are on a tight budget and cannot spend over Rs. 9,000. Alternatively, Motorola also offers its Moto G35 5G (Review) at an additional Rs. 2,000, which offers better hardware and a bit more power.

With a starting price of Rs 8,499, the Redmi A4 5G delivers quite a lot of value for money. The phone comes with a tall display, a dependable processor, an impressive main camera, and a long battery life. The premium looks and IP52 rating are the cherries on top of this Redmi cake. The phone does face some competition from the likes of the Moto G35, which also boasts a very eye-catching design, but its Unisoc chip cannot match the one of the Redmi A4 5G, and its 50-megapixel camera is also not in the same class in terms of detail. Its lack of support for Airtel’s 5G at the time of writing is a bit of a bummer, but all said and done, the Redmi A4 is, quite frankly, one of the best devices you can get at its price. There finally is a Redmi phone that has managed to capture the true essence of what the Redmi Note used to be.

Absolutely. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly 5G phone that doesn’t feel cheap, the Redmi A4 5G is a no-brainer. Xiaomi has truly set a new benchmark for what an entry-level smartphone can deliver. The Redmi A4 5G is a solid performer that punches well above its weight. With its premium design, smooth display, reliable performance, and long-lasting battery, it’s hard to believe it costs less than Rs 10,000. Yes, it has its limitations — the front camera and HD+ display being the main ones — but those are little compromises compared to everything else the phone offers.

Unlike most 5G phones that have launched in recent years, the Redmi A4, powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, only supports a standalone (SA) 5G network. This means the phone is only compatible with Jio’s 5G network and will not work on Airtel 5G based on non-standalone (NSA) technology. In fact, the upcoming 5G service by Vi is also NSA, and the Redmi A4 will not be compatible with that as well. Hence, the Redmi A4 is a Jio-only 5G smartphone in India. This limitation means the Redmi A4 is not a viable option for Airtel users or those looking to future-proof their device for broader 5G compatibility. However, for Jio customers seeking an affordable 5G smartphone, the Redmi A4 5G is an excellent choice that delivers solid performance and value.

Assisting the new chipset is a 5,160mAh battery. Given the smartphone's pricing, it is a bit surprising to find a 33W charger in the box. However, the Redmi A4 5G charges at 18W, so I am expecting faster charging speeds despite the slightly higher capacity over the Redmi A3. The few hours I have spent with the Redmi A4 5G have been enough to convince me that Xiaomi is out to stir up this much-ignored market segment. The segment as such has not been entirely ignored (there are still plenty of choices to pick from) but seems to be deprived of any innovation or sensible hardware choices over the past couple of years.

It’s hard to set high expectations for such an inexpensive device, so there’s not much room for disappointment. The Redmi A5, in the configuration reviewed, costs about $115. There’s also a lower-end model with only 64GB of storage, priced at $100. Un ingénieur révèle: 1 astuce simple pour avoir internet sans abonnement. The device has its share of flaws: a screen that’s slightly dim and pale (improved somewhat with brightness adjustments), sluggish performance, and a lack of support for fast browsing both indoors and outdoors. On the plus side, the camera performs decently, the device runs a lightweight and up-to-date version of Android, and it’s mercifully free of bloatware. The key is targeting the right audience. This is a smartphone for users who need a basic, functional device, albeit a bit slow, with a full-day battery and a large, if low-quality, display. Anyone expecting more will need to spend at least two to three times more to get it.

Overall, to conclude, I think the Redmi A5 is the game changer in making smartphones accessible to people with limited budgets. So yeah, if your budget is really tight and if your usage is not intensive and all you do on your phone is use social media and make phone calls, this phone is the best option. Even for someone who is thinking of upgrading from a bar phone, or if you are in need of a budget secondary phone with great battery, this phone is worth it for the price. Just remember to get the 4GB variant, it will feel slightly faster! One thing to understand is that the limitation of a starter-budget phone like this is longevity. Because such phones have a weak processor, budget phones slow down easily and might become unusable after 1 or 1.5 years. So, if you are planning to use a certain phone for a long time, it’s better to invest a little more money and get a phone above 15k, like the Redmi 14C.

The Redmi A5 hits the market with a price tag that’s hard to ignore—just $105. For that kind of money, it’s almost shocking how much phone Xiaomi has managed to pack into this device. At first glance, you might think it’s just another budget phone, but once you start using it, you realize it punches way above its weight. The combination of a smooth 120Hz display, a reliable 5,200mAh battery, and a capable 32MP camera makes it feel like a steal. It’s not often you find a phone in this price range that doesn’t make you compromise on key features, but the Redmi A5 pulls it off.
