Reviews for the Vivo iQOO 12

80% iQOO 12 Review: Great all-round performance under budget
Source: Android Headlines English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 has a lot going for it. The phone packs the industry-leading Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with the latest RAM and UFS storage, fantastic cameras, excellent display, and superb battery life and charging speed. In our two weeks of testing, we didn’t notice any performance hiccups. Be it gaming, photography, or everyday usage, the device delivered amazing all-round performance. Its entry price makes the package even sweeter. Of course, this is the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered phone we reviewed, so we can’t tell how the iQOO 12 stacks up against other phones with the same chipset. There aren’t many available globally yet, but Samsung will soon release the Galaxy S24 series with the latest Qualcomm chip, at least in some markets. But at a sub-$700 price segment, the iQOO 12 stands out. That’s not to say the phone doesn’t have any flaws. While IP64 is decent protection against dust and water, IP68 would have been better.

IQOO 12 review
Source: Cool Smartphone English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 Pro doesn’t look like what we call a “gaming phone”. As the title says, it has a powerful performance but looks so elegant. It’s similar to the Xiaomi 14 Pro, with photography first, and performance second. Whereas the iQOO 12 Pro is all about gaming and then the photos are pretty good too. Which one to choose depends on whether you prefer photography or gaming I absolutely loved my time with the IQOO 12, once I had sorted the extra apps and bloatware out, it was a joy to use, in fact in some aspects better than my S23 Ultra. The device did seem snappier and I would say that the camera was a good 90% of Samsung’s offering. It’s a shame that this device may well get overlooked by the main players in the Android world, but this clearly should not be the case, if you want a change from the mainstream the IQOO 12 Pro is well worth considering.

Vivo iQOO 12 and 12 Pro Smartphones Review
Source: OI Spice Tech News English EN→zh-CN
The Vivo iQOO 12 and 12 Pro smartphones are a perfect combination of impressive display, astounding gaming, fast hardware, long-lasting battery, and a beautiful camera experience. With all of those factors combined, you won’t have to worry about anything. But at the same time, there are some downsides like the device didn’t have a proper cooling solution. Although, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset often handles everything smoothly. But when you are trying to chime a few hours of multi-tasking and long hours of gaming sessions, then heating issues are prone to occur. Still, the overall gaming compatibility does bring down that shortcoming. But still, if you are looking for a full-fledged gaming experience, consider checking out the ZTE Nubia Red Magic 9 Pro. After going through alternative options, make a final decision according to your needs.

iQOO 12 review: A competitively priced phone with well-rounded performance
Source: Business Standard English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 excels in catering to diverse needs, showcasing impressive versatility that accommodates various user preferences. Notably, iQOO has expanded functionalities, especially in imaging, without compromising its remarkable gaming prowess. Although the camera may not be exceptional, it consistently performs well in various lighting conditions. The display stands out for its exceptional quality, and the battery life is commendable, complemented by incredible charging speeds. While the iQOO 12 boasts an array of impressive features, it has some shortcomings, such as the absence of wireless charging and a slightly less streamlined operating software experience. These limitations aside, the iQOO 12 delivers next-gen performance coupled with a premium design, all wrapped in an attractive price tag.

Source: The Mobile Indian English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12, for Rs 52,999, is a steal deal. A few software tweaks are needed but the amount of improvements iQOO has made in each department and the experience it tries to provide the users with, makes the iQOO 12 worth every penny. It seems like a trend setter that should bring a change in the pricing strategy of other brands for flagships in the coming year.

74% iQOO 12 Review: Best iQOO camera in a matured package
Source: Think Digit English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 is a brilliant flagship from the Vivo sub-brand. For the first time ever, an iQOO flagship has felt like a proper flagship, going beyond just performance and focusing on things that users look for when making an over Rs 50,000 purchase. Now, while it does miss out on a lot of flagship features like wireless charging or an official IP rating. But what we do get, is probably the best camera setup that we have ever seen on any iQOO smartphone. iQOO is back with another flagship, and like every year, this year also the company has got the first mover advantage, effectively setting a benchmark. The iQOO 12 is the first smartphone in India to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, just like the iQOO 11 was the first smartphone to launch with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 last year right before the New Year. This time around, however, things are slightly different. With the iQOO 12, iQOO has gone a step further in offering a proper flagship experience which goes beyond just performance and gaming.

Despite some minor flaws, the iQOO 12 is a solid phone, especially in the Rs 50,000 price range. The device checks almost every box, including display, performance, cameras, and build quality. For someone looking for a new phone around Rs 50,000 outside the Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus bandwagon, the iQOO 12 is the device to consider not just in 2023 but also in 2024.

90% iQOO 12 Review – The phone for BMW owners?
Source: Amateur Photographer English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 offers a rather impressive set of rear cameras, with great performance from all three. The main camera gives really impressive performance in all conditions, as well as in low-light. The 3x telephoto camera performs really well, thanks to a periscope design, that enables close-focus use as well. This makes the telephoto camera feel like a real camera unit, rather than feeling limited as on other models. The only real downside to this phone, in terms of cameras, is the 16MP selfie camera. Whilst this gives reasonable results, to give the full flagship level of performance, this would have included auto-focus as well as support for 4K video recording. If you don’t mind Full HD video from the selfie camera, then this may not matter too much to you. iQOO 12 · f/1.68 · 1/33s · 6.45mm · ISO670.

Should you buy the iQoo 12 today? It depends on whether you simply want to purchase a phone with the latest chipset. If that's the case, you could wait for a few weeks before new phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 — like the OnePlus 12 — make their debut in India, but going by the price of their predecessors, the pricing for these phones is unlikely to match the iQoo 12 when they are launched in the country.

84% iQOO 12 Review: A Headache for Flagships; Present and Future
Source: Tech PP English EN→zh-CN
With its specs, design, and price, the iQOO 12 is pretty much a no-brainer for anyone looking at a premium Android flagship or simply the most powerful phone in the market for about Rs 60,000. The iQOO 12 is comfortably ahead of the competition, thanks to its combination of processor and pricing, and ticks most premium Android flagship boxes. Of course, the coming days will see it face more competition as other brands also release Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor-drive phones, but it is likely to prove to be a thorn in their sides even then. Months down the line, anyone considering purchasing a premium Android phone will still think, “But what about the iQOO 12?” With that pricing and spec sheet, iQOO has pretty much set the benchmark for the 2024 Android flagship. At its starting price of Rs 52,999, the iQOO 12 is actually significantly more affordably than its predecessor and has what it takes to be a premium phone contender right through 2024. It has what it takes to rattle the cages of the likes of Samsung and OnePlus.

85% iQOO 12 review: a performance powerhouse with capable cameras
Source: 91mobiles English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 certainly surpasses my expectations. Having used the iQOO 11 before this review, the handset presents itself as a worthy upgrade. The design of the iQOO 12 appears more polished and premium, while its display provides enhanced visuals with increased brightness and dynamic refresh rate. While the cameras may not match Pixel-like quality yet, the handset is no slouch either. All cameras manage to capture appealing images across various lighting conditions. The battery life is impressive, and so is the charging speed, capable of recharging the phone in no time. Though I would have preferred the smartphone to have fewer to no bloatware, its efforts to reduce clutter and advertisements are much appreciated. These refinements in software also contribute to the phone’s performance, which is its key USP. The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC makes it a smartphone to catch.

The iQOO 12 nearly ticks all the boxes, flawlessly blending each element to create a holistic flagship experience. It boasts blazing fast performance, a premium glass back construction with a minimalist aesthetic inspired by the BMW M Motorsport design, a 144Hz AMOLED panel, a top-tier camera system, and reliable battery life, making it a complete flagship package. Impressively, it starts at just $599. Undoubtedly, it's one of iQOO’s finest creations. In terms of style and materials, the BMW M Motorsport, or the 'Legend' edition, exudes a more mesmerizing and enticing charm compared to the 'Alpha' variants.

The iQOO 12 has a modern design that makes it look a lot more elegant than its predecessors, and while it is a tall phone, it is comfortable to hold and use. The hardware upgrades give it a distinct edge, and it is phenomenal as a gaming phone. You also get one of the brightest AMOLED panels on any device today, and it is markedly better than anything I've used so far. Same goes for the cameras; thanks to upgraded modules and a new 3x telephoto lens, the iQOO 12 takes fabulous photos in just about any situation. Throw in cleaner software and more software updates, and this phone is turning out to be the ideal bargain.

In the time that I've spent with the iQoo 12 so far, the phone feels easy to use while packing a lot of high-end specifications. The handset will face competition from many flagship smartphone makers in the coming weeks and its relatively lower price point is likely to help the company offer better value for the specifications on offer. iQoo has touted the performance of the smartphone's processor and its battery efficiency, and we will put these claims to the test in our full review which will be out on Gadgets 360 soon.

85% iQOO 12 review: This one is for the photographer in you
Source: India Today English EN→zh-CN
The iQOO 12 is a solid phone, especially if you're into photography. It packs a punch with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 16GB expandable RAM, ensuring smooth performance. The 64-megapixel telephoto lens delivers DSLR-like portrait shots, and personally, some of my clicks came out impressively sharp. Design-wise, it's sleek and premium-looking. Gaming performance is top-notch, and the spacious screen makes it great for binge-watching. However, the front camera left me a bit disappointed as it lacked detail. Plus, it's not waterproof; it can handle water splashes but don't dunk it. Also, it might feel a bit wide for some users, and there's no headphone jack, which might bother some folks. But if these drawbacks aren't deal-breakers for you, the iQOO 12 is a fantastic device overall.

The iQOO 12 is an excellent smartphone with a competitive price of around $600 (China, India). It is a true flagship with a premium design, an exclusive BMW M Motorsport collaboration, the latest Snapdragon chip, a top-notch display, and blazing-fast charging. At the end of this review, we have mostly positive impressions from the iQOO 12. Its got a great design (even if slippery), and we appreciate the IP64 protection. We found the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to live up to expectations, and the thermals are quite good. The battery life turned out great, the charging - was incredibly fast, and the speakers were nicely loud. The photo quality from all cameras is very good, but it has some issues with the processing at times. The same goes for the video capturing - it's inconsistent. And the selfie camera is not particularly good. The iQOO 12 still comes with a lot of bloatware on its Android 14, though it has been reduced as promised.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 BEAST! | IQOO 12 Unboxing & Review
Source: Tech Spurt English
Unboxing Vivo's IQOO 12, a pro Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 smartphone boasting impressive gaming performance, excellent battery life and some respectable camera tech. This one week IQOO 12 review shows off the best bits, with gamers particularly well catered for - Genshin Impact runs a dream, and doesn't immediately drain that battery. We're expecting a glut of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered phones in the run up to 2024, with Samsung's S24 series hitting in the new year too. But for now, Vivo's IQOO 12 shows us that this chipset is the real deal. While the camera tech isn't as impressive as some other flagships and we're not seeing the 8 Gen 3's full capabilities here, there's lots to love. Gaming is an absolute delight, helped by the fully featured game mode. And power efficiency is tops, as the IQOO 12 can last as long as any other phone. That's all wrapped up in a rather slick, if slightly iPhone-esque chassis. You have BMW inspired design although it's rather subtle, plus a premium OLED phone display.

iQOO 12 Review: A Future of Smartphone Photography
Source: Igeekphone English EN→zh-CN
In actual tests, we found that the 70mm focal length brings great flexibility and diversity to framing and photography. It can not only take close-ups but also capture extremely small objects, whether it is photographing the delicate texture of flowers or capturing insects. Tiny body structures can be realized through the macro photography function of this periscope telephoto lens. Taken together, iQOO 12 can not only meet users’ needs for high performance, but with the self-developed Q1 chip, it can even break through the constraints of the game’s native image quality and frame rate, and can also provide an excellent photography experience and excellent visual enjoyment. There is no doubt that iQOO 12 is the most versatile standard mobile phone so far. For those users who love e-sports and pursue leading technology, iQOO 12 is undoubtedly the most worth buying gaming console in the current price range of 4,000 yuan.
