东芝Satellite S50-B-12U从硬件配置来说应该算是多媒体笔记本。在我们的第一阶段测试中，我们发现它的屏幕转轴和键盘质量很差。和屏幕一样，屏幕边框也采用了高反光的设计，这使得在户外看清屏幕内容变得异常困难。不过，我们很喜欢它纤薄而简洁的外观设计。对于这个尺寸的笔记本，2千克的重量算是十分轻便。这款笔记本的处理器和显卡的性能十分优秀。同时，在负载较轻的情况下，散热风扇非常安静——但也因此笔记本的温度较高。不过实际上如果是在桌面使用的话，这不是个大问题，因为较热的部分只有笔记本底面。Acer Aspire E5-571G-536E在这方面表现更好。这款Satellite笔记本在电池续航上表现相当不错，不过Aspire仍然处于领先位置。
