Alongside that, you also get a sleek curved screen and massive battery life with super-fast charging so you’ll never be caught short again. Admittedly the design on the back isn’t going to wow anyone but most people will cover that up with a case anyway. I would definitely recommend the Oppo Find X5 and actually, I think it’s a better buy than the Pro model if you don’t want such a big screen, you don’t mind losing out a little on display quality and you're not fussed about your next phone being waterproof.

At this price, it’s hard to criticise the Oppo Find X5. It looks good, feels very well built, has a bright, vivid screen that’s great for entertainment, brilliant cameras on the whole, and performs just as well as any flagship. No matter how hard you push it, there’s never any stutter or lag. It is possible to find areas where improvements could have been made, though not necessarily at this price. Chief among these is the lack of an IP rating, so you need to be careful not to get the phone too wet. The cheaper Pixel 6 as well as the more expensive Galaxy S22 are both IP68 rated. The Find X5 isn’t alone though: the Xiaomi 12 also isn't IP-rated. Elsewhere, you could find cause to moan about the fact storage isn’t expandable and that the 256GB model is the only choice. You might even say the Find X5 is a little too expensive and that the telephoto lens has only a 2x zoom. But with rivals failing to offer anything noticeably better for the same cost, the X5 surely deserves a place on your short list along with those already mentioned, plus others such as the OnePlus 10 Pro.

So… somewhere I heard that OPPO is a brand for visual enjoyment. And for top-of-the-line tech, there are Vivo and OnePlus. And I agree. The OPPO Find X5 Pro is for situations where you need to impress the owners of the most expensive iPhones, and you will do it without any problems. However, if you are a power user, this is not your choice. For 15 hundred bucks, it is easy to find a much better device.

Thankfully Oppo includes a transparent silicon case in the box as well as a beastly 80W fast charger (more on that later). The Find X5 Pro comes in two colourways – a ‘glaze black’ or a ‘ceramic white’, which is the variant I received for review. Overall, it’s a solid enough design but there’s nothing particularly striking about it to make it stand out from the sea of glass slab phones on the market. I would’ve loved to have seen Oppo offer a vegan leather finish similar to what they did with the Find X2 Pro but the company has chosen to play it safe this time around.

There are a lot of reasons to like the OPPO Find X5 Pro. Case in point, the camera performance is definitely the best thing on the device, alongside the sleek and beautiful design, powerful chipset and crazy fast recharging speed. As much as I was annoyed by the amount of bloatware, you can now remove them in the settings. The battery performance could have been better too, but I was testing its capacity pretty hard, so it would likely perform longer under more normal conditions. On the other hand, the RM4999 price is somewhat a difficult price tag to justify. Many users would comment that you might as well top up a few Ringgit to get an iPhone 13 Pro but even if you discard that, there's still the Samsung Galaxy S22+ that is equally impressive at RM4299 as well as the Xiaomi 12 Pro for just RM3899 with similar tech specs and features. Another competitor is the vivo X80 Pro 5G for the same price but I haven't tested it yet. I think at the end of the day, it really depends on your budget. If you do have the budget and you're an OPPO fan, why not?

As much as I was annoyed by the amount of bloatware, you can now remove them in the settings. The battery performance could have been better too, but I was testing its capacity pretty hard, so it would likely perform longer under more normal conditions. On the other hand, the RM4999 price is somewhat a difficult price tag to justify. Many users would comment that you might as well top up a few Ringgit to get an iPhone 13 Pro but even if you discard that, there's still the Samsung Galaxy S22+ that is equally impressive at RM4299 as well as the Xiaomi 12 Pro for just RM3899 with similar tech specs and features. Another competitor is the vivo X80 Pro 5G for the same price but I haven't tested it yet. I think at the end of the day, it really depends on your budget. If you do have the budget and you're an OPPO fan, why not?

I will say that after years of checking out new phone releases, there’s very little that excites us these days. With the Oppo Find X5 Pro, I’m I will say the look of the rear panel definitely caught my eye when I first saw it. I was impressed with the white, but after seeing this Glaze Black in person, I’m glad they sent the Glaze Black. Secondly, I’m really excited about checking out the Hasselblad tuned cameras combined with the dedicated MariSilicone X imaging processor. I’ve seen some examples of crazy nighttime photos and videos so we’re eager to try that out. Other than that, the Oppo Find X5 Pro looks like a real capable phone with beautiful looks and hardware to back it up. Hopefully, this is true after we get more time playing around with it and whether or not it’s worth your time and money to import one.

I think it’s safe to say that the Oppo Find X5 Pro is out to impress. While its price tag won’t be for everyone, it’s hard to argue against because everything about this phone feels premium whether that’s the curved ceramic design, its sophisticated camera system, the battery life that lasts for days or its ultra fast performance and speedy charging. So what are the downsides, other than the price? Well, there aren't really many at all, and none of them are dealbreakers. If you have small hands then this may feel like a bit of a giant to you, and if you tend to use up a lot of your phone storage very quickly then you might be put off by the fact that there’s no way to expand it using a MicroSD card, although not many flagships do have that now. Another reason you may not like it is the fact that the interface isn’t quite as sleek as stock Android, but even then, you’ll soon get used to Color OS. All in all, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a fantastic piece of kit that is bang up to date in just about every area - quite frankly, it would be hard not to love it.

I was impressed with the white, but after seeing this Glaze Black in person, I’m glad they sent the Glaze Black. Secondly, I’m really excited about checking out the Hasselblad tuned cameras combined with the dedicated MariSilicone X imaging processor. I’ve seen some examples of crazy nighttime photos and videos so we’re eager to try that out. Other than that, the Oppo Find X5 Pro looks like a real capable phone with beautiful looks and hardware to back it up. Hopefully, this is true after we get more time playing around with it and whether or not it’s worth your time and money to import one.

I think it’s safe to say that the Oppo Find X5 Pro is out to impress. While its price tag won’t be for everyone, it’s hard to argue against because everything about this phone feels premium whether that’s the curved ceramic design, its sophisticated camera system, the battery life that lasts for days or its ultra fast performance and speedy charging. So what are the downsides, other than the price? Well, there aren't really many at all, and none of them are dealbreakers. If you have small hands then this may feel like a bit of a giant to you, and if you tend to use up a lot of your phone storage very quickly then you might be put off by the fact that there’s no way to expand it using a MicroSD card, although not many flagships do have that now. Another reason you may not like it is the fact that the interface isn’t quite as sleek as stock Android, but even then, you’ll soon get used to Color OS. All in all, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is a fantastic piece of kit that is bang up to date in just about every area - quite frankly, it would be hard not to love it.

Even so, it’s not too hard to reconcile the phone’s target market with its relatively steep price tag — in the UK, at least. At £1,049, we’re talking just below Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max money, which is just right given that the Find X5 Pro doesn’t quite offer the same ultra-premium photography suite and overall software ecosystem. Not to mention that these two are the best in the business when it comes to long-term support for their flagship products. Things are more questionable in Europe, where the €1,299 price tag overshoots its big-name rivals. Nevertheless, I can recommend the Find X5 Pro to anyone who digs a unique design and loves to customize the look and feel of their mobile experience. There’s personality here that you don’t get elsewhere. Spend a few minutes kicking the bloatware off the phone and Color OS 12 is a really lovely piece of software to use in isolation. Combined with ultra-fast charging, battery longevity, and a smattering of other improvements, there’s a wonderfully imperfect phone here for those who can get on board with Oppo’s futuristic vision.

On the whole, while not entirely groundbreaking and new, the Find X5 Pro is clearly an evolution of the Find X3 Pro. The ceramic finish on the back is fancy, and should prove more long lasting than the glass. Perhaps that’s a big part of the story: longevity. With the more durable finish and more durable battery, and other optimisations in software, you may have a great phone for a few years, rather than just two years. As far as specs and hardware go, it’s up there with the best of them, and we think a lot of people will like the customisation available in the software.

The Reno7 5G a.k.a. Find X5 Lite is an excellent smartphone with a well-rounded feature set and reasonable pricing. Sure, there are better phones out there at the same price, but there are weaker, too. The Reno7 5G/Find X5 Lite offers an excellent 90Hz AMOLED screen, bright and responsive. The Dimensity 900 5G chipset is more than adequate for smooth gaming on the go, and coupled with the large battery, it delivers great battery life. We can also praise the cooling and the overall stability of the device. The camera is another aspect that gave us only positive experiences. The photo and video quality across all cameras are very good, and the hardware is consistently reliable. We liked the design, too, even if it's mostly plastic. The LDI process on the blue version is cool and makes for a unique effect and feel on touch. And while flashy, it is still pleasant to look at and can easily match any style - official or casual. Not all is perfect with the Reno7 5G - there are no stereo speakers, no obvious updates over the Reno6 5G, and no ingress protection whatsoever.

The Oppo Find X5 Lite’s web browsing lacked smoothness, which was a distraction when using the screen in its most basic function. The display’s brightness levels are programmed to be adapted to the time of day. While brightness was well suited in low light during the day, we found it to be a bit dim during the night. However, light transitions were correct. The BLF also gave the screen a noticeable orange cast. In outdoor and indoor conditions, the device lacked enough brightness for comfortable reading. In addition, pink and blue stripes were visible on the screen when viewing at an angle. For gamers, the display offered an average experience, with just a few visible frame drops when playing and accurate touch, which offset the aliasing and lack of smoothness when playing. Watching HDR10 videos on the Oppo Find X5 Lite was a poor experience because of the screen’s green cast and very saturated colors. In addition, the low brightness and the low level of details in the dark tones affected the HDR experience

Oppo has considerably improved the battery performance of its new Find X5 series, especially with the Find X5 Lite. Compared with its predecessor the Find X3 Lite, which fared poorly in battery performance with a score of 68, the X5 Lite has proven to be very well-balanced. Autonomy was decent overall, offering more than 2 days of moderate use and excellent on-the-go performances. Thanks to its 65W travel adapter, the charging experience is outstanding and very efficient. Charging takes only 37 minutes to fill up the 4500 mAh battery. But what is bound to please many users is that a 5-minute charging boost provides, on average, about 8 hours of autonomy. The Oppo Find X5 Lite’s discharge currents are very low, especially when streaming videos and gaming, showing that this device manages its consumption very well. For a high-end device, the Oppo Find X5 Lite is among the best in this segment and makes it into the top 10 devices in our overall battery database to date.

With a global score of 56, the X5 Lite is among the lowest scoring devices in our High-End price segment, though it did surpass the 53 earned by its brand sibling, the Oppo Find X3 Lite. In playback, the X5 Lite was hampered having only one speaker, which affects its performance in more than one attribute. While functional and sufficiently loud, the X5 Lite has a high-mid centric tonal balance and performs particularly poorly in the dynamics attribute. When it comes to recording, this Oppo smartphone does much better, with a decent tonal balance and consistently good performance in the dynamics and spatial attributes.

In playback, the X5 Lite was hampered having only one speaker, which affects its performance in more than one attribute. While functional and sufficiently loud, the X5 Lite has a high-mid centric tonal balance and performs particularly poorly in the dynamics attribute. When it comes to recording, this Oppo smartphone does much better, with a decent tonal balance and consistently good performance in the dynamics and spatial attributes.
