The Lenovo IdeaPad 730S ultrabook is definitely a thin and elegant ultrabook which isn’t too hard on the wallet. With a fairly decent screen and o.k. battery life, this ultrabook should get you through the better part of the day. With a Rapid Charge feature, plugging in when you can for an hour or so should get you another 4 or 5 hours depending on your usage.

Definitely an interesting laptop from Lenovo. As it is interesting, it is not for everybody. If you want a device that is going to serve you as a long-lasting companion, or you need it for the university, meeting rooms or somewhere where you need to be quiet – well, that’s not the laptop for you. With its 11.9 mm thickness it is a brilliant piece of technology and looks stunning, but be sure that this little fan is going to kick in at any time. Even when copying files and especially, when updating your favorite Windows.

Instead of attempting to be all things to all people, the Lenovo IdeaPad 730S is content to be a solid thin-and-light laptop with a strong sense of style. It’s ideal for people who want to perform office or other productivity tasks from anywhere, and don’t aspire to use their laptop like a tablet or turn it into a gaming rig. As long as the Wi-Fi issue I experienced doesn’t prove widespread—or gets patched in the near future—this laptop succeeds at cutting away the cruft.
