The camera department was also one of the phone's highlights. The primary camera on the Mate X7 offers excellent photos and videos, and notably better performance in low-light conditions compared to the Mate X6. We only wish the white balance were a bit more consistent and that the telephoto cam's low-light performance could be optimized a bit more. The Kirin 9030 is extracting as much performance as possible from its fabrication process. However, on a constrained node and with limited architectural headroom, any performance gains will come at the expense of higher power draw, and that's pushing the thermal limits of a thin smartphone chassis.
