As it is, we can only recommend the Chuwi LapBook if you're willing to take a flyer and wouldn't be terribly put out if your $250 laptop suddenly had to be shipped a long ways, for a long while, for replacement or repair. If this would be your only computer to rely on, we'd be way more inclined to recommend shopping for a budget model, likely with a smaller screen, from a domestic e-tailer or a local retail shop. It's a lot easier to schlep a wonky laptop back to your local Best Buy or back to Amazon.com or Newegg.com than to ship it back across the Pacific.

We just wished it had more connectors and dropped that proprietary power socket. Oh, and don’t fork out extra for the faster processor, the price difference is far too big to justify the jump in performance.
