Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Apple的Retina 5 K再一次给我们带来了非常好的整体印象。生产商推出了一款搭配高品质机身和优雅外观的设备。它的全新输入设备也终于采用了可充电电池。不过,最吸引人的还是超高分辨率的屏幕。我们在它绚丽的色彩和宽阔的色域前几近哑口无言。

在机身之中,它混合了台式和笔记本电脑硬件,这保证了不错的系统性能。遗憾的是,Apple将Fusion Drive的固态硬盘容量从128 GB降低到了24 GB。它的处理器性能十分不错,而显卡也足够应付最新游戏,不过对这款较老芯片的利用率让人略微失望。如果你打算用iMac来玩游戏的话,那么就不如选择售价更低且更快的设备。

在发热量和噪音控制的方面它表现中规中矩。在通常任务中它的风扇经常处于静止状态。

如果已经有了上一代的5K Retina iMac,那么并没有什么升级的必要。它们的处理器和显卡性能十分接近,而较广的色域覆盖也只对很少一部分用户有意义。

Apple的iMac 5K Retina是一款优秀的产品,不过售价较高。
