The bottom line is, if you are strictly looking for a business-grade notebook, the Latitude 14 7480 is an ideal choice. At this price range, you should consider the Lenovo ThinkPad T470 as an alternative but honestly, the Latitude 7480 still comes on top with a better screen and longer battery life. But if performance isn’t enough for you and the lack of 2.5-inch drive bay is a deal-breaker for you, the more affordable ASUS ZenBook UX410UQ might be a better solution in this case. We also suggest considering the Acer Swift 5 – considerably less expensive device but still comparable to the Latitude 14 7480.

Same body, new engine. The 14-inch Dell Latitude 7490 retains the same design as last year's Latitude 7480 but sports a new quad-core U-series CPU. The Core i7-8650U is a significant upgrade over the dual-core chip in the previous iteration. Does the increase in power warrant an upgrade?

This is the first time I’ve used the Latitude lineup in many years. I think Dell has done a great job of refreshing these. While they’re not super awesome in terms of design, they’re not ugly either. They’re well built, have great battery life, great I/O options, and decent displays. They’re something worth considering for certain.

Dell’s premium business models have never been more XPS-like, but with the sweeping changes come significant challenges. With its Core i7-8665U CPU, 16 GB RAM, and NVMe SSD, the $2,800 Latitude 7400 2-in-1 certainly isn’t slow, but can it take the heat? Let’s find out. Update: i5 version is a better match for the cooling solution

Now, let’s put it straight, the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is not a cheap laptop. Even the most budget-conscious offering costs around $1100 and has only 128GB of SSD storage. If you bump up the storage and choose a faster processor, your price might reach as high as 1800-2000 bucks. However, what do you get for your money?

Similarly, it’s a superior option if you want a hybrid machine for tablet and laptop use – or if you just want something that looks more stylish than the ThinkPad. However, the Latitude falls behind elsewhere. Its keyboard and trackpad aren’t as good as the ThinkPad’s hardware, and Dell’s machine has marginally weaker build quality while being a little heavier. Its connectivity isn’t quite as broad, and the Latitude doesn’t always better value, especially when you start experimenting with screen resolutions and system specifications. The Dell Latitude looks the part, has a great screen and has a decent range of business features- and battery life is excellent. However, this stylish system doesn’t have quite as much office substance as the ThinkPad.

The Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 doesn't come cheap. At the time of this review, prices start at around Rs. 1,35,000 (with taxes) for the Core i5 model, and go up to about Rs. 1,63,000 for the top-end pre-configured model. If you were to custom-order one of these, the price would vary depending on the configuration and services you opt for.

About the only real nit we have to pick with the Latitude 7400 2-In-1 is that it is on the pricey side, with an entry-level price of $1599 ($1899 as configured for our higher-end test model). On the upside, some of the machine's unique features, like ExpressSign-in for better automated security, especially in corporate environments, adds nicely to this laptop's value proposition, as do its myriad of IO options and memory card slots. With its premium build quality and top-shelf features in mind, if you're a business or home user who's willing to invest in quality tools, the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is a great offering from Dell that earns our Editor's Choice award.

The Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is a successful attempt by Dell to craft a modern business laptop that can go toe-to-toe with the best of its competitors. Borrowing some of the best qualities of the acclaimed XPS series, this sleek convertible has an attractive chassis that is both thin and lightweight. Despite its portable size, the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 offers exceptional battery life, a good selection of ports and a comfortable keyboard. If I could change anything about the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 it would be the laptop's poor speakers and average 1080p display, which is not as bright or vivid as competing panels. That leaves the door open for the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga and the HP EliteBook x360 1040 G5, two excellent convertible business laptops that share many of the same qualities as the Latitude 7400 2-in-1. But overall, the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 is a highly recommended convertible for those who value portability -- and what will hopefully be the new standard for Dell business laptops.

Though more airlines are including power plugs, the real test of a laptop is running from appointment to appointment, without any promise of a laptop charger in sight. That’s been the case for buying a Qualcomm Snapdragon PC—more so than performance, which has suffered somewhat from how the processor interprets instructions. Qualcomm promises that its upcoming Snapdragon 8cx fixes those flaws.

Dell’s Latitude range of laptops has always been unique in its own ways. While the design is sturdy and looks elegant for the most part, the features inside add to the overall package without much corner cutting. With this, Dell seems to have successfully managed to club design with mobility and the required power so it can be used literally anywhere with ease. However, if you are a Dell fan and need a powerful device that looks much premium and is more portable, go for the XPS series.

Latitude is one of Dell’s long-established business computing ranges. Like Toshiba’s Satellite (see our review, Issue 557) or the IBM ThinkPad, now made by Lenovo (see Issue 537), it conjures up chunky black plastic cases. This new machine breaks the mould. It’s all aluminium and, for a 14in machine with a 360-degree hinge that lets you fold back the touchscreen and use it as a tablet (as pictured below), impressively slim and light.

Modern-looking with modern components, the Latitude 7410 is a capable laptop for business users, but it’s hard to recommend it when you can get a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 for roughly $500 less. I found a comparable Carbon Gen 7 for only $1,700 with a 14-inch, 4K display powered by a 10th Gen Core i7 CPU and 16GB of RAM. And while that Lenovo model lacks vPro technology, it has twice the storage capacity with a 1TB SSD, boasts a better keyboard and touchpad, and is 0.7 pound lighter than the Latitude 7410. The X1 Carbon remains the business laptop to beat.

It’s clear where Dell is going with its Latitude 7410 Chromebook Enterprise. From the design to the price tag, this is a Chromebook with its sights on the corporate market, which is increasingly drawn to Chromebooks thanks to their easy management and comparatively low overall costs. It comes in straight clamshell and 2-in-1 variants with a range of specifications, running from a Core i3 model at just under £900 to a Core i7 version at over £1,500, with three or four years of Dell ProSupport Plus on-site services bundled in.

With all its various forms and add-ons, the top specs for the Dell Latitude Chromebook 7410 were originally as much as £1,500. Our enterprise review unit with the i5 chip and the standard screen is £919 (exc VAT) but that also seems a bit too much for what it actually offers. It may have a very good screen, a decent processor and a fairly nice build, but that doesn't really outweigh the comparatively poor battery life. Worse, this is a machine aimed at enterprise customers, so it ought to be more reliable. That said, the enterprise features are good, particularly with its focus on security. There are some good ideas here for the future of work, but it's not quite ready for the here and now.

The Dell Latitude 7410 Chromebook feels like a cheap attempt to be the Chrome equivalent to the Windows version of its Latitude siblings. However, matching their ludicrous pricing won’t cut it. Yes, you get good performance, long battery life and a comfortable keyboard, but that’s not enough for an asking price of $1,900. No one wants a crappy touchpad experience, a dim 4K display and speakers that sound like someone’s speaking through a tin can.

This 14-inch business laptop gets subtle improvements with each new generation. The latest version doesn't fix what isn't broken, adding Intel's latest silicon and little else. This means that for the time being, it's a superior alternative to our longtime favorite enterprise ultraportable, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (whose new Gen 9 edition, which matches the Dell's move to 11th Generation Intel processors, we haven't tested yet). Choose the Latitude 7420 if you want a competent workhorse with excellent computing performance, even if it is a bit heavier and more expensive than the ThinkPad.

To sum up, everything we said in the lines above, the Latitude 14 7420 is a pretty formidable device, which packs a ton of features mainly aimed at privacy and security. From the TPM chip, through the privacy shutter, to the IR face recognition sensor and the ingenious proximity sensor. In fact, it works as it should – step away from your notebook, and in a matter of seconds, the display turns off, and the laptop locks itself. Then, sit back in front of it, the screen shines right away, and the IR sensor unlocks your notebook. Nobody will see the contents of your work when you’re away.

It is a secret to no one that this laptop is pretty expensive. This is the reason we were left a bit disappointed when we found out that our unit (which we bought from the store) has a misalignment of the touchpad. Whether it’s a bolt not screwed in fully, or something bigger – we don’t know. What we do know, is that Dell should work on its quality control. Stuff like this may be overlooked in the entry-level devices because there we seek value, rather than the premium factor. But here, it is simply unacceptable. This makes the device a fantastic package for people who know what they are doing. Unfortunately, having a not perfect quality control is something that acts as a great enemy in this industry. In terms of functionality, the laptop is absolutely pristine. However, the slightly tilted touchpad really puts salt in Dell’s healing wounds in terms of public reception.

The Dell Latitude 7430 features decent specs across the board, comes with a good display, is slim and lightweight, and looks stylish to boot. Pair that with above-average battery life and you've got a pretty decent business laptop offering here from Dell.

Weirdly, it feels like Dell has made a step down from last year. Not in terms of performance, because naturally, the 12th Gen Intel CPUs mop the floor with their 11th Gen counterparts. However, there is just simply too little going on in terms of change. The memory is still soldered to the motherboard, with the difference that 28W CPUs get LPDDR5 RAM, instead of DDR4. Some things remain the same for the better, though. The port selection with the two Thunderbolt 4 connectors rocks! Also, you get the proximity sensor, IR face recognition scanner, Full HD camera, and fingerprint reader. Plus, the keyboard is pretty comfortable for typing, thanks to its decent key travel and clicky feedback. But what we found shocking, is the decrease in battery life. The larger 58Wh package is not only smaller than its predecessor but also runs for almost half the time on a single charge. Dell Latitude 14 7430’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, and a good contrast ratio. Furthermore, the backlight doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. As a disadvantage, the color coverage is only 50% of the sRGB color gamut. On the bright side, you still get two options regarding the body panels. You can do like us, and pick the Carbon fiber device with its soft-to-the-touch finish, or you can go the other direction – cold feel and aluminum. Regardless of what you choose, the build quality will be on point, and we have to respect that. In our opinion, going for the Fujitsu LifeBook U7512 is a far better choice, although it is larger in size. Or, if you happen to have the older Latitude 14 7420, stick to your guns, and don’t change it.

与夸张的Latitude 9440不同,Latitude 7440坚持传统,更加朴实和易于使用。最新的16:10宽高比总是受欢迎的,但在过渡过程中也失去了一些功能。

The Dell Latitude 14 7440 is a small laptop that performs well. The cooling solution has just one big fan and a single heat pipe, but that’s enough for a 2.63 GHz P core clock under heavy CPU usage. This is a very good result for a light 14-incher. Moreover, the fan isn’t noisy and the keyboard doesn’t feel too hot to the touch when the processor is tortured with Prime95. The 14″ 16:10 1200p display has a ridiculously long name – LG Display TDVNC-140WU2 (LGD06F9; LP140WU2-SPM1). Aside from that, it’s PWM-free and the viewing angles are good. Still, the sRGB coverage and the color accuracy are nothing to write home about which is normal for an office device that isn’t meant for professional color-sensitive work. The battery life impresses us – more than 14 hours of Web browsing on a single charge. Our machine has the optional 57Wh model, if you pick a notebook with the default 38Wh unit and a 28W P-series CPU, maybe the autonomous life will be shorter. Just like many other compact laptops, the memory is soldered.

The Dell Latitude 7440 2-in-1 is a great laptop with some cool features. It works pretty well, thanks to its strong Core i7 CPU. Even though it could use a bit more power, it gets the job done. We also like that it has a taller screen and a good webcam. And the display looks really nice. The Latitude 7400 2-in-1 offers a nice mix of style, performance, and price. With 16GB of RAM and an i7 processor, it’s got plenty of power for anything demanding a user might throw at it. Plus, during our usage, the 2-in-1 design not only proved to be quite useful but also pretty well implemented. Other cool things about this laptop are its quiet fan, long battery life, and loudspeakers. Even though it might not look as fancy as some other laptops, the Latitude 7440 2-in-1 is easy to use and has all the features you’d want. Needless to say, we recommend it to anyone who is looking for a simple, no-frills everyday laptop that can get the job done.
