At the end of the day the Digital Storm Triton delivers on most, if not all, of its promises. This notebook is only marginally heavier than a budget 15-inch laptop but packs serious performance for hardcore gamers. The allure of high performance with low weight becomes even more attractive when you add good battery life and a price tag on par with bigger, heavier gaming notebooks with similar performance.

The Digital Storm Triton is a good thin and light gaming laptop with respectable 3D scores and a very good price. The MSI GS60 Ghost Pro 3K remains our Editors' Choice midrange gaming laptop, due to its lighter weight, better audio, more storage, and 3K screen. If you're trying to keep the system under $1,700, however, the combination of high-end enthusiast graphics, more-than-adequate storage, and convenient features should have the Triton squarely on your short list.

The Triton is a refreshingly different take on a gaming notebook. While the category’s performance has soared, size has dropped only slightly over the last few years, leaving us with massively powerful systems that are simply too heavy for most people to carry. Yes, the system is still a bit heavy, but no more so than an average 15.6-inch notebook build a few years ago.
