微星这次的更新主要建立于前代产品的成功设计之上。这很容易理解，因为前作GT72的缺点并不多。当然，它的一些细节并不完美（无法更换的电池，不支持Optimus技术，触控板的胶质表面，和一般的Wi-Fi信号），不过这些并不会影响它整体上的优秀表现。

微星一直都在产品线中有一款经典的高端笔记本，配备双风扇来保证系统可以毫无压力地保证长时间运行游戏。它的整体设计由优质的音响系统和高对比度（尽管色彩不够准确）的TN屏幕提供了足够的支持。大方的硬件配置也是它的亮点。不论是在接口，升级维护选择上，GT72都非常为用户考虑。它的系统噪音和运行温度也属于可以接受的水平。
