Reviews for the Asus ZenPad Z8-ZT581KL

82% Asus ZenPad Z8 Review
Source: Phone Arena English EN→zh-CN Archive.org version
The Asus ZenPad Z8 is a fun tablet, and I found myself playing games and watching videos more often than I usually do while testing it. Those are the use cases in which the Z8 shines the most, and if you’re in the market for a reliable Android tablet that’s going to give you one of the best multimedia experiences in this price range, the Z8 is absolutely worth checking out.

The perfect travel tablet?
Source: Techno Buffalo English EN→zh-CN Archive.org version
I didn’t expect to be impressed by the ZenPad Z8, but Asus clearly knows what it’s doing when it comes to making budget-friendly Android tablets. There’s a bit of the classic Nexus 7 buried somewhere in there, serving as a sturdy foundation for modern hardware and software enhancements. The real issue with this tablet is that it’s only available from Verizon, but if that’s not a problem for you, there’s nothing else to hold you back from picking one up.

60% A capable tablet not worth signing a contract for
Source: PC World English EN→zh-CN Archive.org version
I’ve always thought it’s a bit foolish to sign a two-year contract with a wireless carrier for a tablet. Sure, maybe the carrier knocks a couple hundred dollars off the purchase price, but at the end of the contract the cost of monthly service fee winds up being far more expensive than what you save. Use the Asus ZenPad Z8 as an example: Full retail price is $250, or you can sign to a two-year term to drop the price by $100, with a the lowest monthly data plan running $30 per month.

A Spec-Heavy $249 Verizon Tablet
Source: Android Authority English EN→zh-CN Archive.org version
There is little complaining that can be done once you factor in the Z8’s affordable pricing. Although the display could be less reflective, there could be more RAM, and the camera could produce better images, there’s a lot to love about this tablet. With its dual front-facing speakers, excellent high-resolution display, and very good performance, the ZenPad Z8 is yet another home run for ASUS.
