Display Response Times

Display response times show how fast the screen is able to change from one color to the next. Slow response times can lead to afterimages and can cause moving objects to appear blurry (ghosting). Gamers of fast-paced 3D titles should pay special attention to fast response times.

Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

The display backlight flickers at 1000 Hz (worst case, e.g., utilizing PWM) Flickering detected at a brightness setting of 100 % and below. There should be no flickering or PWM above this brightness setting.

The frequency of 1000 Hz is quite high, so most users sensitive to PWM should not notice any flickering.

In comparison: 53 % of all tested devices do not use PWM to dim the display. If PWM was detected, an average of 18071 (minimum: 5 - maximum: 3846000) Hz was measured.

略显笨重:这台平板电脑对于日常使用来说还是有些略重。它的输入设备几乎可以和更昂贵的微软设备相媲美。而这台Acer新变形本的屏幕也十分惊艳。当然,无风扇的散热系统究竟可以帮助它实现怎么样的性能水平是我们最感兴趣的。尽管它搭配了强劲的英特尔酷睿i5处理器,面对其它无风扇机型却不会显得“鲁莽”。生产商为它搭配的散热设计可以成为轻薄笔记本电脑和平板电脑的一项技术革新。如果Acer可以改进电池续航和音响效果的话,它的竞争对手将会很难站稳脚跟。

我们十分喜欢Acer的新Switch Alpha 12。它的售价约800欧元(约5931人民币),却不仅靠实惠取胜,在其他一些方面也有亮点:吵闹的风扇从此将会成为历史。

无法接受它电池续航的用户可以考虑Surface系列或联想 IdeaPad Miix 700。惠普的产品如Spectre x2也十分值得推荐。
